SHARKHUNTERS International
2017 "Southern Patrol"

On the trail of 3rd Reich World War Two History

SO SECRET!  This activity was so secret we had to provide our passport numbers, birthdates and the license number of our vehicle.  We could take a few photos, with permission, inside this hangar but no photos were permitted on the airfield anywhere else.

Both above - there is that 'Smiling Shark' again; the Me 262 jet fighter, the only jet fighter to see real combat action in the war.

Left - the Me 163 rocket propelled fighter in the same blood red color of the first Me 163, flown by Member WOLFGANG SPÄTE.

Right - when the war ended, Messerschmitt was not allowed to design any kind of aircraft, so they designed this neat little "compact" car of the 1950's.

Both below - after some years passed, Messerschmitt was again allowed to design and build aircraft.

LUNCHTIME - After leaving the Messerschmitt Foundation, we caught a quick lunch at a quaint restaurant right next to our hotel.  Then we headed for the Ingolstadt 'Volkfest" which is their small version of Oktoberfest.

After lunch (both above) we hiked to the Festfeld (right) and we see that security, although quite adequate, was nothing compared to that at Oktoberfest.

We stopped at the beer hall of this local brewery and had supper.  Georgiy and YEVGENIY (below left) place their order and receive their wurst (below right) with a lot of mustard.

Both above - it is early and the midway is just opening up

Both below - last year VIKTOR was sold on taking a wild ride on one of these contraptions in what he described as a "Near death experience" but last year he had two pretty girls on the ride with him.  This year he had none, so he kept his feet on the ground.
