Comments about items bought in the July 2010 Auction:
The buyer of the two rare paintings he got for
$1,350 said they were easily worth $5,000.
The buyer of the SA dagger said when he received it,
that it was far more beautiful than the photos on the auction.
He was so excited
when he received his dagger that he called here to let us know how pleased he
was.

BUYER'S TIPS
A word to the wise.............we know that some
bidders like to wait for the last moment to place their bids - but is that
always a good thing? In our August 2010 Sharkhunters Auction, a bidder was
waiting until the last moment to place his bid but his wife got sick and he had
to rush her to the hospital. He missed his chance to bid and the item was
not bid on by anyone, so the item went back into stock. Fortunately for
him, that item is back on the list for this month. It is okay to wait if
that is your style - but one never knows when something will happen to change
your plans.

"Any serious collector with some degree of
knowledge would not hesitate to add these to their collection. If they
think they can do better, they can look around and see how many they can find
(not copy junk from eBay etc.) I really think our Members would like to
see some quality pieces!"

|
|
HAND-SIGNED photo of Kapitänleutnant PAUL BRASACK
(5940-1999). He is a very unusual recipient of the
Knights Cross because he
never sank anything! Toward the end of the war, when things were
going badly for Germany and they needed heroes, PAUL BRASACK
attacked the escort of Convoy JW.56b and when his torpedo detonated in
the wake of a destroyer, several escorts set out after him. They
did not catch him, but he became the 'rabbit' that lured the
escorts away from the convoy and other U-Boats were able to close in and
sink ships. Reserve not yet met |

made five successful Feindfahrten (war patrols) in the last few months

This is one of the first
HAND-SIGNED prints ever done by the
very talented war scene artist MIKE WOOTEN (232-1987). This
print is professionally matted and framed behind non-glare glass.
MIKE produced 1,000 of these prints and all are
HAND-SIGNED by: |
|
Sharkhunters Members names are upper case
and bold. When MIKE WOOTEN produced this print, 1,000 were made and
the masters were destroyed so no more could be made. This print is very
rare because it is in color. None of these prints were produced in color -
they were all black and white but they could be ordered in color like this one,
for an additional price because MIKE HAND-COLORED each
print that was ordered as colored. No two of these prints are colored
exactly alike - each one is unique and very rare.
