ART was sonarman aboard the destroyer escort USS FREDERICK C. DAVIS.  His ship was sunk by U-546 under command of PAUL JUST (206-1986).  Several other American DEs counter-attacked and sank U-546.  Some years after the war, ART HUNTLEY and PAUL JUST became good friends and JUST kept a travel trailer on HUNTLEY's California property where he and his wife spent their winters.  This is highly visible indication of the motto of Sharkhunters:

"Yesterday's Enemies are Today's Friends!"
