"Graf Punski" or "Count Punski" was the nickname of this Luftwaffe pilot, the youngest General on the German High Command.  He was decorated with many honors including one of the very few to be decorated with the
Knights Cross with Oak Leaf and Sword.

He returned to the new Luftwaffe in the middle 1950's when Germany was reorganizing their armed forces, and ultimately became Commander of the Luftwaffe's Tactical Air Wing.
