TOM POSER served with
the Kriegsmarine, but it was difficult to determine exactly what he did and
where he did it. After the war, TOM became a citizen of the United States,
living in Texas. For whatever reason, TOM told a lot of stories - tall
tales as well as fact, and it was difficult to separate them.
He said that he rode U-222, although that boat was sunk in a training
accident in the Baltic. According to TOM his father was I.W.O. aboard
battleship BISMARCK and his uncle was Field Marshall von Mannstein.....and
that TOM himself was actually Abwehr. TOM was a friendly and engaging guy,
and with many stories.
