We don't know much of JAY's military
service, but he is included here because he was one of the strongest supporters
of Sharkhunters and a good friend. He held a big reception at his home
when the book written by Professor MICHAEL GANNON (101-1985) about
Korvettenkapitän REINHARD HARDEGEN (102-LIFE-1985) was released and he had
these two men picked up from their hotel and driven to the reception in a
limousine. JAY was with us for many "Patrols" but on the
last one he attended, his face was terribly disfigured. He had cancer in
his face and the doctors were cutting away more and more of his face in an
attempt to save his live. Sadly, it was not successful and we lost JAY -
he was not yet fifty years of age and we will miss him.
