HERBERT A. WERNER (18-LIFE-1983)
Kriegsmarine; U-Boat
Commander
HERBERT WERNER commanded several U-Boats including U-415 and his last boat, U-953 but he is best known for the book he wrote, "IRON COFFINS". Anyone who has read this book will agree - it is far and away the very best book on the U-Bootwaffe ever written by a participant in the war. |

| U-415 carried several turmabzeichen (tower emblems) including this one, depicting a plane they shot down. | The emblem of the town of Bad
Harzburg was also on the tower, as that town had adopted the boat and crew. |

Sharkhunters President HARRY COOPER (1-LIFE-1983)
met with WERNER several times and visited in the WERNER mansion in
Florida. He moved to the United States some years after the war and became
extremely successful, owning three companies.
HERBERT WERNER hand signed some of our very rare fine art prints.
