Sharkhunters S.E.I.G. Agent WIZARD adds this to the mystery:
"They say it is the CENTAUR but experts
state that there were many ships sunk in this area and it will only be validated
in January. I.E. they only found a ship that they think is the
CENTAUR so there is NO official confirmation yet if it is the
CENTAUR - just politicians making noise."

Ahmadinejad to
Seek UN Compensation for WW I

According to a message received a day or so ago from Ingrid Zündel, wife of
political prisoner ERNST ZÜNDEL (956-1989), Iran's president says he will
soon write to the UN Secretary General asking for his country to be compensated
for World War II damaged. He has assigned a team to calculate the costs
and will write to the Secretary General asking for Iran to be compensated for
the damages and pointed out that such a move is necessary to, in his words, to
ensure that justice was served. Ahmadinejad told reporters in Copenhagen
that the countries that won the Second World War had inflicted a lot of damage
on Iran by invading that country and using its resources. He added that
while the Soviet Union, the United States and England received compensation
after the conflict but Iran had been given nothing to make up for the suffering
its people ad endured.
At the beginning of World War II, Iran declared its
neutrality but was soon invaded by both Britain and the Soviet Union on 26
August 1941 in Operation COUNTENANCE. The fact that
Iran refused to give in to Allied demands and expel all German nationals from
the country was the excuse they needed to occupy the country. Within
months of the invasion Iran became known as 'The Bridge of Victory'
to the Allies. The Allies urgently needed to transport war materiel across
Iran to the Soviet Union. The effects of the war however, were very
catastrophic for Iran. Food and other essential items were scarce and
severe inflation imposed great hardship on the lower and middle classes as the
needs of foreign troops were prioritized.
"Not only was Iran deprived of any
compensation for World War II but 10 years later, the Americans even went as far
as arranging a coup to reverse a popular uprising that had led to the
nationalization of Oil," said
Ahmadinejad.
In 1953, Washington orchestrated a coup against the
popular and democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister of the time, Mohammad
Mosaddeq whose efforts led to the nationalization of the country's oil industry.
Almost half a century later, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
acknowledged the pivotal role that the US played in the coup, coming closer than
any other American diplomat to apologizing for the intervention.
"The Eisenhower administration believed
its actions were justified for strategic reasons, but the coup was clearly a
setback for Iran's political development and it is easy to see now why many
Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America,"
she said in March 2000.

HMAHS CENTAUR is found.
23 December 2009 - Reports are coming in that the wreck of this hospital ship
has been found. She was sunk by a single torpedo from a Japanese submarine
and the wreck has been located on the ocean floor. We were beginning to
send out the details on our FREE Sharkhunters HOTMAIL
service, but the details then were pouring in so fast we couldn't keep up.
Some indicated that this hospital ship was carrying munitions - one even said he
had spoken to one of the dock workers who said he personally loaded munitions
aboard - strictly against the rules although many did that. Others hotly
denied that there could possibly be any munitions aboard. There is way too
much to put here or in the FREE Sharkhunters HOT MAIL
bulletins, so it will all be in KTB #223 coming out shortly to
Members. There will be more information as well as bottom photos of the ship.

Norway Wants to Raise
U-864.....
...........with the remains of 73 German U-Bootfahrer aboard.
This boat was sunk on 9 February 1945 by the British submarine HMS
VENTURER to the west of Bergen. According to her manifest, she was
carrying some 65 tons of mercury destined for Japan...but when the submarine
U-234 departed Germany shortly thereafter, her cargo manifest also
indicated that she was carrying 560 kilos of mercury (listed as queksilber) but
in reality, it was uranium for the Japanese atomic bomb.
Whether it is mercury or uranium, there are still 73 men aboard, still on "Eternal
Patrol". Should they be disturbed?
This boat was hit by a torpedo from HMS VENTURER and when a
submarine is hit by a torpedo usually is pretty well blown apart, so we must
ask:
1. Is this boat intact or scattered over the
ocean floor?
2. If she is scattered, what is left to be
raised?
3. Are the containers of mercury (or uranium)
still intact or have they been leaking for 64 years already?
4. If they have been leaking for this long, isn't
this effort pretty late?
5. Most important - is it REALLY worth disturbing
the sleep of these 73 men?
Shall we raise USS ARIZONA or HMS ROYAL OAK because
they pose a hazard? The oil has been leaking from USS ARIZONA
since she was sunk on 7 December 1941 and HMS ROYAL OAK for a couple years prior
- isn't that reason enough to raise the ships even though the crew are aboard on
"Eternal Patrol"? Of course not, but we wonder if there is a
different measure used with a German warship than with such holy shrines as
those mentioned.

Secret Chinese
Submarine Base
One of our S.E.I.G. Agents has sent us
this information, taken from the "Daily Telegraph"
in England, said to be the best selling quality newspaper in Britain. In
this article, with accompanying photo from the 'Daily Telegraph',
it states that China has built a major underground nuclear submarine base
that could challenge American power in the region.
The story is backed up by this photo
from this Agent who, as yet, does not have a S.E.I.G. code name. Secret
submarine bases hewed out of solid mountains is nothing new. The Soviet
Navy did the same in the Black Sea at the Ukrainian port city of
Balaklava, better known from "The Charge of the Light
Brigade" by Alfred Lord Tennyson. We were there with our
2006 "Patrol in Russia and Ukraine" and again
to the same places in 1996. We walked far out on a point of land where
we saw lookout towers built centuries ago by the Phoenicians - but
manned by Russian security forces in 1995 and 1996 - and we could look
back at the sheer cliffs on both sides of the entrance to the harbor.
In the vertical cliffs on one side of the harbor, the massive iron doors
of the entrance into the secret Russian submarine base were easily seen.
Hiding submarine bases inside
mountains is not a new idea, but with the massive influx of money to
China from their trade goods sold in just about every major nation in
the world, the Chinese military is moving forward a great speed to build
a huge military force and is rapidly becoming a full-fledged blue water
navy. It would be foolish to take them lightly.
While it once was a good idea to
hide submarine bases inside mountains - with the advent of the always
present "eye in the sky" of the satellites, is it really a good idea
still? Once inside, the submarines are invisible to the satellites -
but they have to surface to come into the mountain bases and at that
time, they are visible to the satellites.

"Final
Orders" Received
Hans-Georg Hess began his "Eternal Patrol" in the early hours of
Friday, 28 March 2008. He was our solid iron "bridgepost" in
Europe, was the youngest combat submarine commander of World War
II........possibly ever in history, he was a retired Doctor of Law - and he was
my best friend in Europe.
Hess always liked this photo of himself (left) because it showed him smiling.
He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. The photo on the right is
the last photograph that Sharkhunters took of Hans-Georg Hess, taken by his son
Tilman; also a Sharkhunters Member. This was my last visit with him in his
home with HESS on the left of the photo and HARRY COOPER (1-LIFE-1983)
on the right - it was in December 2007, just three months ago.

"Swede" Erickson had this to say................
"This will come as quite a blow to those Sharkhunters
who had the expectation of meeting Herr Hess at the upcoming Patrol in Germany.
I will miss his always ready smile and good humor for all. It reminds me of
when I went on the patrol in '98, with the hope of meeting the legendary Otto
Kretchmer. Unfortunately, 'Silent Otto' died of a head injury a few months
before the patrol. The moral of the story is; meet these Vets while they are
still alive. As much as we would like to see these great men live forever,
they won't! Auf weidersehen mein herr."
There will be much more about Hans-Georg Hess in the next issue of our KTB

world attest to how much this fine man meant to Sharkhunters Members everywhere.

Bunker for Sale
20 March 2008
The bunker VALENTIN by Bremen, is listed for sale by the German
Navy. It was intended to be a final assembly plant for the Type XXI U-Boat
as the sections arrived. It was an advanced design that would move the
sections along to be welded together, a high section to test the periscope and
snorkel, another deep well for diving the boat and testing for leaks etc.
The war ended before the bunker was complete, so it never built a single U-Boat.
It had been used by the Bundsmarine as a storage warehouse but it is apparently
in great need of major repairs.

371) is found!
26 May 2005 - This American submarine hit a mine on her second war patrol in the
Gulf of Siam and sank, taking all her crew to a watery grave. This
