The DVD shows the rise of
pride and patriotism in Germany, and it opens with an eerie nighttime torchlight
parade with flags and banners floating over the crowd in the darkness.
There are songs and scenes of staunch patriotism of a proud nation, rising from
deepest despair. Some of these songs are forbidden by law in Germany
today.
You'll see many of the prominent figures and important places in pre-war Germany
including:
places like Feldherrenhalle and Brandenburg
Gate.........and
people like von Hindenburg, Hitler, Göring, Raeder,
Dönitz, Röhm, Hess, Himmler and Mussolini.
There is recreation march of 9 November 1923 from the Hauptbräuhaus down the
street to Feldherrenhalle and the confrontation with the Bavarian police.
We see Adolf Hitler on his Sonderzug (special train) named AMERIKA!
There is an excellent tour inside and underground in the Siegfried Line bunkers,
turrets, sleeping quarters etc.
This DVD shows mainly patriotic parades and ceremonies until into early 1939
and then they include some militarism and re-armament.
