Harry Cooper INTERVIEW - 2000
Tape H-82
We
went back to Germany in 2000 and shot more interviews with veterans of the
U-boat wars as well as with historian Harry Cooper.
Harry is recognized as one of the world’s leading researchers on the
U-boat wars, and here he gives us his thoughts on a great many topics.
What was life like for a U-boater? How were the U-boats able to be so
successful in the first half of the war? What led to their loss of high
seas supremacy? Why did they continue to set out on war patrols when they
knew they had a 9 out of 10 chance of being killed? Answers are all on
this tape.
There are things in this tape that are not on any other videotape.
