Mystical HQ of Heinrich Himmler, where he
planned rituals of his Knights of the Teutonic Order; circular room where the great round table stood;
ceremonial chamber where the bodies of the fallen heroes would be cremated; the twelve pedestals along the walls of the circular pit where
these ashes would remain in state for eternity.
Huge swastika in ceiling; inlaid marble tile floor with different
symbols; building with the emblems of each SS Regiment still
in the wooden trim; mysterious Fischhorn Castle where truck caravans brought tons of -
nobody knows. It is here that Reischmarschall Göring sat with US Army General Stack at the
end of the War, negotiating his surrender - where US Army
intelligence officers located Frau Göring some months after the War,
with some three dozen valuable art works. This castle was said to
have been an SS horse farm.

TUNNELS OF THE
3RD REICH

The leaders of the 3rd Reich had homes atop the Obersalzberg. Miles of tunnel systems ran through the
mountain - Some had shower rooms, bowling alleys, rifle ranges, formal dining rooms. All
had electric lighting, water systems - and machine guns pits
throughout their miles & miles of corridors.
In
this 4-hour tape, you'll see where Göring's pool was and the remains of
his beautiful home; where Hitler's home stood and where the
tunnels begin; go through these tunnels from end to end AND
into many places where visitors are NOT allowed; up the mountainside to where the air shafts peep out of
the ground, then down into some of these shafts. This is a VERY
thorough videotape tour.

Our first ever journey through this mysterious
land. Our camera went places no Westerner has been in
centuries. Naturally big cities like Beijing and
Shanghai, but also Liutien, Weihai, Penglai, Yentai and Tsingdao. We were guests of the Chinese Navy everywhere
- the Ming Tombs, Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City
and many other places. The
fantastic Chinese Acrobats - fantastic doesn't begin to
describe them.
We're aboard various warships, including one destroyer that was not on our
scheduled tour. This caused some brief consternation with a Chinese Admiral and
a Captain! We also see the open discussion between SHARKHUNTERS
Members and the Commander of the East Sea Navy; banquet in our
honor; cruise up the Whang-po River aboard the Admiral's personal barge
and more. We were allowed to freely tape anything we wanted,
and it is all on these two tapes including the riotously funny 'commercial'
for a Chinese beer filmed by two of our group, who had been liberally
sampling the product! You will laugh until you cry!

6TH ANNUAL CONVENTION 1992

Two man U-boat; the only Type XXI and the only Type VII-C
left in the world. Visit many U-Boat veterans
including Reinhard Hardegen, Skipper of U-147 and
U-123 and winner of the KNIGHTS CROSS with
OAK LEAF and Gerd Thäter, Skipper of U-466
& U-3506 a
TYPE XXI
boat. Our Welcome Dinner was attended by dozens of
veterans including many who won the KNIGHTS CROSS and at least two
winners of the OAK LEAF.
To
the LOST BUNKER where three TYPE XXI boats are still entombed.
Some of our group walked all over these boats - and it is all on this
tape - but our tapes are now the only way to see these U-boats.
In
its haste to wipeout all traces of WW II in Germany, this bunker has
been filled with sand, and these U-boats are gone forever.
Wilhelmshaven Navy Base, tour aboard the
destroyer BAYERN, then ate in the mess hall. The monument
to Hermann, the farmer-soldier who united the German farmers to rout the
Roman legions in the Teuteburg forest; the
mystical Externsteine - and Wewelsburg
Castle.
The German Naval Academy
at Mürwik; the actual spot
where Wolfgang Lüth was shot and killed by a sentry; the Advanced Submarine
Training School; we visited the submarines; we ate
in the mess hall.

'Patrol' in RUSSIA - 1992

First SHARKHUNTERS tour into Russia, look into this society which, at that time, was fresh out of
the Soviet Union. Some views expressed by some Russian officers were
startling.
St. Petersburg, we stay in a magnificent villa owned by the Russian
Navy. Tour the Leningradski Naval Area, Fortress
Kronstatd - we toured on board warships. Cultural evenings and toured the Peter & Paul Fortress.
Far into the countryside to a top-secret airbase - the personal plane of Fleet Admiral Chernavin for our flight to
Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg). Tour
the naval facilities and harbor, then at Baltysk (formerly Pillau) eat in the Officer's Mess and tour on board the frigate DRUZNY.
Back on Chernavin's plane and off to Moscow - tour the Admiralty (Russian Naval HQ),
the Officer's Club and many magnificent museums in Moscow & St. Petersburg alike. When
it comes to culture, Russia takes a back seat to no one. We visit
General Barabolya in the country.

the high seas; Soviet Fleet is closer than the American Fleet; they decide to help.
Co-pilot of an American plane scared
to cowardice; XO of the American nukey
boat goes completely nuts - the best feature of this film is that it gives
a good look at life in Russia as it really is. You will see Russian
ships and submarines, fighter and bomber aircraft that you probably won't
see anywhere else. Tape also gives a very realistic view of
the average Russian home - the furnishings, the wives who wait and the
day-to-day living in Russia. From this standpoint, it is a very good
tape.

in late 1943, is a genuine documentary of the war
patrol of the I.J.N. submarine I-10 in the Indian Ocean.

Cameraman aboard U-552; combat action as it really
happened with a young Erich Topp in command. He was
the third most successful submarine Skipper of World War II - any
navy. He earned the Knights Cross with

U-bootfahrer won this high award. The original of this tape came
directly from Konter Admiral Erich Topp and shows a very real look into life of a German U-Boat in combat
as it really was.

Japanese propaganda movie made and released in 1944 under full support of the Imperial Navy which
provided the filmmaker with unlimited use of its facilities,
aircraft, personnel, etc. There is a lot of Japanese military
music throughout this tape.
You will see an actual engagement with an American
task force; aerial dogfights; American bombers coming in force; American
fighter sweeps over the island - unopposed, and everything is shot to pieces.
American task force heading toward Japanese territories. JILL bombers attack.
Night torpedo attacks are shown. Flares are dropped
behind enemy ships and when they are silhouetted, bombers go in for the
kill. We see four types of aircraft in action - MAVIS, JILL, BETTY and ZERO Type 52 (latest
model) not wooden mock-ups of post-war
movies - the real
thing. This tape shows how the Japanese naval air crewmen lived,
played, fought and died.
This is a very real film, shot in combat, and we obtained the master from an
elderly Japanese film producer who kept it in his own personal vault for decades
- until now.

JOHN F. KENNEDY
and the NAZI SPY

son of a powerful politician decide to drop out of a promising career in
Naval Intelligence and opt to Skipper a PT boat in the South
Pacific? SHARKHUNTERS broke this story around 1990 when we
reported that young Lt. John F. Kennedy, only 24 years of age, was smitten
by the beauty, charm and wit of 28 year old Inga Aarvad. Did J.F.K.
know that Inga-Binga was Adolf Hitler's date for
the 1936 Olympics in Berlin? Did he know she was the mistress
of one of Hitler's top
operatives in the western hemisphere? Did he even care?
Their blistering romance was all he could see - but others were watching
this romance with a great deal of interest including J. Edgar Hoover and 'Papa'
Joe Kennedy. It's all on this tape.

Being a U-boater in the closing moments of the war was almost always a one-way
ride. After 'Black May' and for the balance of the war,
of every ten U-boats that put to
sea on their first patrol - only one returned, nine did not!
Hans-Georg Hess was given command of U-995 in August
1944. He had celebrated his 21st birthday just three months
earlier. He brought his men and his boat home safely each time
and he earned the Knights Cross.
Hess tells
what it was like being a combat submarine Skipper in the closing moments
of WW II, then he answers questions from the audience. It's all on
this tape.

STRANGE STORIES

Toward the end
of the war, many strange things took place. One that made the
greatest impact on young U-boat Skipper Hans-Georg Hess took place in late April
1945. Hess needed a ride, so the GrossAdmiral allowed him to ride
along. Probably the most important subject they discussed came up
when Dönitz asked Hess for his opinion on how Germany could persuade
England and especially the United States to stop the war with Germany, and
to join with Germany to have all armies drive to the east against the
Soviet Union. What was the opinion of Hess?
It's all on this tape, plus a lot more formerly untold stories of WW II.

U-boats were available for film use. It depicts the attack in

German U-bootfahrer in the early days of Would War II, days which were
filled with hope and successes.

Richter was a radioman on U-81 when they sank the
British aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL in the Mediterranean
and on this 80 minute tape, he recounts that event in great detail.
This is pure history from a man who was at the center of this historical
event. He also remembers the time he helped to set up the radio base
station at U-Boat Headquarters at Kerneval outside Lorient.

Detlev Zimmermann Interview

Detlev
Zimmermann was a diving planesman on U-315 when that boat
was caught in an anti-submarine net at the entrance to the Kola Bay (northern
Russia) in 1944. Their mission was to penetrate the harbor and sink the
Soviet battleship ARCHANGELSK, the former Royal
Navy HMS ROYAL SOVEREIGN - and they were to sink it for the
propaganda value. What actually took place?
Detlev is a
technically-oriented guy, so this tape also contains a lot of information on how the various systems work in the U-boat.

CHAMPAGNE IN THE COMBAT BOOT

Laugh riot from beginning to end. Two German soldiers in bed
with French girlfriends, American patrol shows up. Not wearing
uniforms (or
anything else) Americans think they're the French boyfriends and
chase them out, then take off
their uniforms for their time with the girls. The girls dash off with
the uniforms, give them to their German boyfriends who then steal the American tank!
Americans upset when they discovered the girls, their uniforms AND their tank were
gone! The Germans, wearing American uniforms and
driving an American tank, explaining to the old German
reserve soldier in charge of supplies, that they were not American saboteurs.
Waffen SS Sergeant doesn't buy their story. The laughter never stops and
the guys continue to escape one unlikely situation after another.
The French all
speak French, the Germans all speak German and the Americans all speak
English. You'll laugh with this film from beginning to end and
without letup.

Topp was one of only five U-Boaters to earn the KNIGHTS CROSS with OAK LEAF
and CROSSED SWORDS, and was the
3rd most successful
submarine Skipper in WW II. He sank the
first American warship (USS REUBEN JAMES) a month
before Pearl Harbor.
Topp speaks about the REUBEN JAMES; compares submarine tactics between WW II and today's modern
submarines; and discusses the Treaty of Versailles and what
effect that had on the outbreak of WW II.

ships' are in St. Petersburg; we tour all of them
including CUTTY SARK. Tour Russian warships &
submarines, palaces and museums galore; guests of honor
aboard the Flagship of the fleet, the heavy cruiser SMOLNIY where
we watch the festivities of Russian Navy Day - paratroopers, fighter and bomber planes, ships up and down the Neva
River. We spend an evening with a Russian family in their home for dinner.
Then we go the
Crimean Peninsula where we actually walk in the 'Valley of Death'
at Balaclava, the site where the British Light Cavalry was
wiped out in the Crimean War. On to Sevastopol where we tour
more ships and submarines - our cameras always welcome.
To Moscow,
where we toured the Admiralty - the Headquarters of the Russian
Navy, and we met with the Admiral who run the Russian Navy.

the passage through the 'Gates of Hell' (Gibraltar) not

Gibraltar, and his last boat U-3506 which SHARKHUNTERS found in
1988, entombed in a 'lost bunker' in Germany.

Kretschmer, known as 'Silent Otto' for his refusal to
make propaganda speeches, was the first of only five U-boat Skippers to
earn the KNIGHTS CROSS with OAK LEAF and
CROSSED
SWORDS and was the MOST successful
submarine Skipper of any nation in WW II. His daily average
tonnage sunk equaled that of Lothar von Arnaud de la Perrier, the most
successful submarine Skipper ever in history.
What were his
special tactics to penetrate the defensive screen of a convoy so he could
attack on the surface while running amongst the merchant ships? How
did he manage to sink more ships than anyone else in World War II - and in
just a little more than one year of combat? Do sinking ships really
create a suction that can pull a swimmer down? Did Kretschmer really
stand at attention on the bridge of U-99 as it sank out from

Hans-Georg Hess

Hess was the youngest combat submarine commander of World War II,
possibly of all time, having command of U-995 a few
months past his 21st birthday. He earned the KNIGHTS CROSS and
completed half a dozen successful patrols.
Hess and GrossAdmiral Dönitz rode together from Berlin to
Flensburg - the Admiral hoped the Americans and
British would join with Germany against the Soviet Union and drive the
Russians out of Europe. What was the reply from Hess? How did
Hess manage to come home from all those patrols at a time when U-boats
were usually sunk on their first patrol - and he sank ships
too! What did he think of GrossAdmiral Dönitz? What did
he think of his fellow Skippers? What makes a good submarine

follows the life of the Ace of Aces of WW I, Baron Manfred von Richtofen.
There are a great deal of still photos, but a very great amount of actual combat film shot during the
war - AND there are interviews with several WW I fighter
pilots. You will see actual dogfights on this tape, as well as 'balloon
busting' in which observation balloons, filled with
hydrogen, were shot down with incendiary bullets.

Westphalen was the Skipper of U-968 in the closing days of

visited the Externsteiner, Germany's equal of Britain's Stonehenge but
with graves chiseled into the stone, and in a room at the very top which is an
ancient observatory, visit
mysterious Wewelsburg Castle where Heinrich Himmler planned to rebuild the
Knights of the Teutonic Order. The scenes in and around the castle are
awesome! We are guests of honor at the majestically
beautiful German Naval Academy at Flensburg/Mürwik. These buildings
have stood for centuries and have felt the footsteps of such cadets as von
Spee, Bismarck, Weddigen, de la Perrier, Kretschmer, Prien, Schepke, Topp
and too many others to name. The view is breathtaking!

He was Skipper of U-960 and was the very last boat to make

in WW II. No other U-boat made it after U-960.

this tape that are not on any other videotape.

KATOH HAYABUSA SENTOTAI

This is a
Japanese movie made in 1943. Hayabusa is the endearing name for the Imperial Army's Type 1
fighter (code named OSCAR by the Allies). The movie is
about Major General (posthumously) Tateo Katoh and his Fighter Wing 64.
Lt. col. Katoh was a charismatic leader and an outstanding pilot
himself. By May 1942, when he was shot down and killed by a BLENHEIM
bomber which he was chasing over the Indian Ocean, his Wing had destroyed
more than 850 enemy aircraft in the air and on the ground.
There is a great deal of Japanese music and the Wing's song was loved much during
the war and is popular today in Japan. This is an outstanding film,
full of very real aerial combat action. The dogfights are real,
taken from Japanese gun cameras. We see top of the line
Japanese fighters & bombers in action as well as British P-40
aircraft in the skies. The action in this tape never stops - it is all footage never before
seen!
