"U-995
and Hans-Georg Hess" |
 |
|
The story of U-995 and her last Skipper
Hans-Georg Hess was
born in Berlin on 6 May 1923, the son of a chemistry professor at the
university there. He was just seventeen when the war broke out and
being a patriotic German, he volunteered for the Kriegsmarine.
He completed his basic training then posted to the U-Bootwaffe where he
served aboard U-466 under Kapitänleutnant Gerd Thäter. Hess rose
through the ranks to ultimately become I.W.O. (First Watch Officer) of
the boat where he was responsible for the sinkings as well as shooting
down one Allied aircraft. Hess was badly wounded, but at that point in
the war, a doctor was posted aboard the U-Boats and Hess was saved.
Late in the war, August 1944, the Skipper of U-995,
Kapitänleutnant Walter Köhentopp, was deemed ‘not aggressive enough’,
was busted to common sailor and the command was given to Hess who had
just turned 21!
They all knew that the war was all but over and they also knew that
under Köhentopp, they would live through the war because he stayed away
from combat. But what of this new ‘Draufganger’? They did not
have long to wait. Hess mounted to the bridge and with his apprehensive
crew standing at attention, Hess thundered out,
“You
cowards! This will no longer be a yellow boat!”
At the time, they thought that Hess would take them quickly to their
death. By the end of the war and with five Feindfahrten (war patrols)
under their belts and with several sinkings, they had a different idea
of this young Skipper and they all admired and respected him. He was
decorated with the
Knights Cross
11 February 1945.
After the war, Hess went on to become a Doctor of Law.

GERMAN NEWSREELS
- Karl-Friedrich
Merten |
 |
|
Part
of this DVD comes from Sharkhunters Member Captain MERTEN and it shows his entry into
Lorient while the bunkers are being built.
It also shows a parade in Berlin with a naval contingent marching with
the Legion Condor. It
was only after SHARKHUNTERS broke the story that several U-boats as well
as SCHARNHORST and GNEISENAU also participated in
the Spanish Civil War, the U-boat participation was Operation 'URSULA'.
This film came directly from the private collection of
Captain MERTEN and had
never been seen before.
There is another portion that has interviews with MERTEN and some of the
survivors of the CITY of CAIRO that he sank in the war.
When he pulled away from the survivors that dark night, he felt sorry for them
and he was absolutely certain that they had no chance of survival. His
final comment as he pulled away;
"Goodnight.
Sorry for sinking you."
Yet most survived and made it more than 2,000 miles to a tiny island in the
South Atlantic. None of
them had any ill will toward MERTEN. Years later, those who
survived looked upon it as an adventure.
Merten was decorated with the Knights Cross with Oak
Leaf.

CASTLES OF THE
SS |
 |
|
Mystical HQ of Heinrich Himmler, where he
planned rituals of his Knights of the Teutonic Order; the circular room
with the twelve legged Swastika (the Sunburst where the great round table stood;
ceremonial chamber where the bodies of the fallen heroes would be cremated; the twelve pedestals along the walls of the circular pit where
these ashes would remain in state for eternity.
Huge swastika in ceiling; inlaid marble tile floor with different
symbols; building with the emblems of each
SS Regiment still
in the wooden trim; mysterious Fischhorn Castle where truck caravans brought tons of -
nobody knows. It is here that Reischmarschall Göring sat with US Army General Stack at the
end of the War, negotiating his surrender - where US Army
intelligence officers located Frau Göring some months after the War,
with some three dozen valuable art works. This castle was said to
have been an SS horse farm.

TUNNELS OF THE
3RD REICH |
 |
|
The leaders of the 3rd Reich had homes atop the Obersalzberg. Miles of tunnel systems ran through the
mountain - Some had shower rooms, bowling alleys, rifle ranges, formal dining rooms. All
had electric lighting, water systems - and machine guns pits
throughout their miles & miles of corridors.
In
this 4-hour tape, you'll see where Göring's pool was and the remains of
his beautiful home; where Hitler's home stood and where the
tunnels begin; go through these tunnels from end to end AND
into many places where visitors are NOT allowed; up the mountainside to where the air shafts peep out of
the ground, then down into some of these shafts. This is a VERY
thorough videotape tour.
NOTE
- All the homes on this
DVD were later destroyed and most of these tunnel entrances have been
filled in. The German Government wants nothing left of their WW II
days, so the only way to see these buildings and tunnels is on these
tapes.

Triumph of the Will'
|
 |
|

by Leni Riefenstahl
Without
question, this is the most powerful propaganda film ever made by anyone!
The music is powerful when needed, soft and intoxicating at other
times…...........the images from the daytime sunshine parades to the eerie and
haunting nighttime torchlight gathering and processions of tens of thousands at
Nürnberg – everything in this two-hour film is so powerful that the Allies
banned the film for years after World War II.
You'll see the daytime parades with their theme of German solidarity; and the
nighttime torchlight parades with tens of thousands of people - all marching to
the same drums. The fun and camaraderie of the German youth in the
camp-outs has an atmosphere of togetherness while the parades and marches are
impressive. You'll see the ceremonies, including the famed 'Death
Ceremony', which basically honors the fallen soldiers. There just is not
enough room here to describe everything on this fantastic two-hour long
videotape. There has never been another film like it.
It's been said that famed filmmaker Frank Capra copied this style for his films.
Most major cinematography colleges use this film to teach how lighting,
music and camera angles can set the mood. This
is absolutely the MOST
POWERFUL film you will see
in your lifetime:
Triumph of the Will!

'U-Boats in
Combat' |
 |
|

The first half
of this DVD is entirely from German newsreel footage, showing Gross Admiral Karl
Dönitz and his staff officers in the famous ‘Situation Room’
where convoy attacks and U-boat movements were planned and carried out by this
staff – and we see a radioman in the funkraum (radioroom) as he sends
messages to the Skippers in the North Atlantic while the Type VII-C
boats form a wolf pack and close on a convoy.
This was in the early days when targets were plentiful and escorts were
few in number. We see daytime
attacks, dive to escape the tin cans coming out of the convoy, and we live
through yet another depth charge attack.
U-505 CAPTURE - On this same
tape is the propaganda film ‘Now it can be Told’ which shows
the attack and capture of U-505, the first enemy Man-O-War
captured on the high seas by the US Navy since the War of 1812.
You’ll see the task force hunting the submarine, the locating of the
boat and the attacks by the destroyer escorts over the boat.
When U-505 breaks the surface, all hell breaks loose as
every gun on the DEs is pouring fire on the conning tower.
Machine gun fire from the HELLCATS above is likewise making
sure the sub can no longer dive. This
propaganda film was shown to American factory workers after Germany surrendered,
but to be sure they continued to produce war materiel until Japan was ‘brought
to her knees’. While
watching this DVD, one must remember that this was a propaganda film with all
the inflammatory language words to fit its objectives. This DVD is pure action!

COMBAT at SEA |
 |
|
This
German newsreel opens with BISMARCK departing harbor, assisted by
tugs, through the Kiel Kanal, out to open sea.
We look around the bridge and into the engineering spaces.
The film clips of BISMARCK going through heavy seas is
impressive!
Then we ship aboard U-46 with Englebert Endrass, winner of the
Knights
Cross with
Oak Leaf.
There is a meeting with another boat and a surface gun action against a
steamer. We tour inside the boat
– Endrass is on the periscope, setting up a torpedo attack.
LOS! This is
all great combat footage. There are
scenes of U-boats returning with Victory Pennants fluttering in the fresh
breeze, being met dockside by bands and pretty girls with flowers.
You’ll see smiling, happy U-boat crewmen arriving and opening mail from
home during the so-called ‘Happy Time’
We see U-81 under Fritz Guggenberger entering the harbor and
coming dockside after sinking the aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL.
A hero’s welcome awaits them all on the dock.
This was a good time for the U-boatmen.
Targets were there for the taking and British anti-submarine tactics were
not all that effective.
The DVD ends with a Propaganda Kompanie film about the good life aboard
U-boats – clean clothing, fresh leathers and enjoying sumptuous meals while
destroyers drop depth charges far, far away.
They show an easy life with singing and card playing.
Military music and German folk music is played throughout this tape.
You’ll rush right out to your nearest Kriegsmarine recruiting office.

DISCOVERY! U-boats
and P-40 WARHAWKS |
 |
|
This unique DVD begins with John Ryan's team in the swamps of northern Florida,
as they pursue reports of two P-40 WARHAWK fighter plane crash
sites. They find them both - and the remains of the pilots are still in
the planes. There is a memorial service, and the remains are taken to the
nearest US Army facility. By some of the evidence found in one aircraft,
the instructor pilot may have been formerly with the Flying Tigers.
The rest of this very special and rare DVD was shot underwater by Sharkhunters
Member JOHN CHATTERTON when his dive group located the previously undiscovered wreck of a
U-boat off Point Pleasant, NJ. This
wreck was found on 2 September 1991. By all records and accounts,
no U-boat was supposed to be there, but it was indeed there.
Through SHARKHUNTERS we learned that this boat, which was first
known as “U-WHO” was actually U-869.
This DVD will take you all around this deep wreck that has already
claimed the lives of the entire German crew – and three sport divers.

SOVIET UNION -1991 |
 |
|
SHARKHUNTERS
President HARRY COOPER went to Soviet Russia as guest of the Soviet Navy to plan a
historic SHARKHUNTERS ‘Patrol” in the former ‘Evil
Empire’. He was treated as
family everywhere he went, and met with most of the top ‘Brass’ of the
Soviet Navy. This was in 1991, and
it was still the time of the Soviet Union although the Soviet Union was on the
brink of collapse.
This historic visit covers the meeting with Fleet Admiral Vladimir Chernavin,
Chief of the Soviet Navy and with his second-in-command, VADM Komorov right in
the Russian Naval HQ! There are
also meetings with Major General Pyotr Barabolya (the only General in the Soviet
Navy); ADM. Anatoliy Smal (Chief of Intelligence) and many others of the top
brass of the Soviet Navy.
It's all on this DVD. (These officers joined Sharkhunters as regular
Members).
There are evenings at the ballet and other cultural events. You’ll also
see the ancient religious center of Zagorsk and the magnificent churches, the
cultural evenings and so much more. An
interesting piece of information about all those cathedrals with the gold domes
– that is REAL GOLD! Each
of these churches has ten to twenty pounds of gold, hammered flat and covering
the domes. Inside the cathedrals,
every square inch of the walls and ceilings are covered with magnificent
artworks. These are not paintings
hung on the walls – these are religious scenes painted right on the walls and
ceilings themselves. In some
churches, the pictures are separated by solid silver or gold frames screwed to
the walls to separate one particular picture.
In one church there was one bible with a front cover about 10 inches by 14 inches and
half an inch thick – solid gold, studded with many jewels.
Russia really is not a poor country – it is a country full of poor people.
And when one is in Moscow in December – it gives new meaning to the
word COLD! You will learn a lot about this fantastic country
from this DVD.

'SOVIET FLEET TO THE RESCUE' |
 |
|
The
plot is pretty hokey – an American nuclear submarine is incapacitated on the
high seas, and the Soviet Fleet is much closer to it than the American Fleet, so
they decide to help.
Basically, the film appears to have been made as sort of a peace gesture
from the Russians to the Americans at the end of the Soviet Union, when Russia
wanted to come into the world community. It appears to be a show of
support for the United States Navy by the Russian Navy which, in fact, did
indeed cover and shelter the fledgling US Navy in the early days of the United
States in the time preceding and during the War of 1812.
While the plot of this movie shows that the co-pilot of an American plane
is scared to the point of cowardice and that the XO of the American submarine
goes completely nuts, the really outstanding part of this film is the really
good look at today's Russia. You’ll
see Russian ships and submarines, fighter and bomber aircraft that you probably
won’t see anywhere else.
The
DVD
also gives a very realistic view of the average Russian home – the
furnishings, the wives who wait and the day-to-day living in Russia.
From this standpoint, it is a very good DVD. We have been to
Russia and this is a very accurate portrayal of Russian life.

'Gochin!'
(Japanese submarine
documentary) |
 |
|
GOCHIN
means
‘Bang and Sink’. This
film was made in 1943 and is an actual and genuine documentary of one of the war
patrols of I.J.N. submarine I-10 in the Indian Ocean.
Everything in this DVD was filmed as it actually happened, including the
rescue of a crewman of a Norwegian freighter and also the periscope view of the
breaking up and sinking of an Allied steamer.
On this patrol, I-10 sank four ships.
There is a lot of Imperial Japanese Navy music, rousing sea songs etc. throughout
this DVD.
An
A Type (I-9 Class) with Flagship facilities and a
floatplane, I-10 displaced 2,434/4,150 tons and her top speed was
an impressive 23.5 knots. This photo is I-10 as she departs
on this particular war patrol.
This is an extremely rare film and shows life on board an I.J.N.
submarine as it really was. The master of this DVD came to us from
a friend in Japan who was a movie producer in Japan in the years of the
war. He had this film in his personal vault and he sent it to us.
It is not available anywhere else in the world.

St. PETERSBURG
for the Tourist |
|

A brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
Of all the
world's cities, St. Petersburg, Russia ranks as one of the most
magnificent. The gold domes of the cathedrals
ARE
gold, real gold. Ten to twenty pounds of hammered gold adorn each of
the domes of the cathedrals around this city while hundreds of works of
fine are on the walls. St. Petersburg was nicknamed the Venice of the
North as it is a city laid out on a maze of small islands at the Gulf of
Finland at the eastern end of the Baltic Sea. Under Peter the Great,
this land was conquered so that Russia could have a seaport and once the
area was secure, he ordered that the place should be made the most
magnificent city of Europe and that his capitol should be there. You
will see many beautiful cathedrals, museums and palaces on this DVD.
We tour the Summer Palace and the Winter Palace as well as Petroveredts
(Peter's Place) and we visit the cruiser AURORA, which
fired the signal shot to start the Bolshevik Revolution in 1918.
Peter the Great had not one,
but two patron saints - St. Peter and St. Paul, and so he built the
fortress of St. Peter and St. Paul as the first walled bastion of the
city. This DVD takes you through this huge place.
There is a lot to see on this hour-long DVD. You'll love it.

'Raigekitai Shutsudo'
(Torpedo
Bombers - LAUNCH!) |

A brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
Japanese propaganda movie made and released in 1944 under full support of the Imperial Navy which
provided the filmmaker with unlimited use of its facilities,
aircraft, personnel, etc. There is a lot of powerful and stirring Japanese military
music throughout this DVD.
You will see an actual engagement with an American
task force; aerial dogfights; American bombers coming in force; American
fighter sweeps over the island - unopposed, and everything is shot to pieces.
American task force heading toward Japanese territories. JILL bombers attack.
Night torpedo attacks are shown. Flares are dropped
behind enemy (American) ships and when they are silhouetted, bombers go in for the
kill. We actually see four types of aircraft in action - MAVIS, JILL, BETTY and ZERO Type 52 (latest
model) not wooden mock-ups of post-war
movies - the real
thing. This DVD shows how the Japanese naval air crewmen lived,
played, fought and died.
This is a very real film, shot in combat, and we obtained the master from an
elderly Japanese film producer who kept it in his own personal vault for decades
- until now.

das Letzte
U-Boot
(the Last U-Boat) |
 |
|
This
is the story of U-234, a big Type X-B mine laying submarine
converted into a cargo sub, and it was the last boat to depart Germany as the
Reich crumbled. The boat had a
cargo of 560 kilos of uranium oxide for the Japanese Army to build their atomic
bomb to use against the American Fleet; it had two Me 262 jet
fighters aboard in crates plus the technological data for the Japanese to begin
building these planes in quantity; there were two Japanese officers and various
‘special’ German officers and scientists aboard.
The end of the war caught them in the middle of the Atlantic, so they
surrendered in the USA. The
Japanese officers committed suicide rather than face disgrace by surrendering to
the enemy and they were buried at sea.
This is a well done videotape
and it is very realistic – the rail cars, the automobiles, the uniforms except the U-boat looks a lot like a modern 206 Class than a Type X-B.
The Germans all speak German; the Japanese speak Japanese; the Americans
and Brits all speak English. It
gives the movie a very real flavor.
The actual Skipper of U-234 was a Member of Sharkhunters
as was the I.W.O., the Cargo Officer and the Oberfunkmeister (Chief
Radioman). They were Kapitänleutnant Johann-Heinrich Fehler,
Günther Pagenstecher, Karl-Ernst Pfaff and Wolfgang Hirschfeld.

JOHN F. KENNEDY
and the NAZI SPY |
 |
|
Why would the son of a powerful politician
decide to drop out of promising career in Naval Intelligence and opt to Skipper
a PT boat in the South Pacific?
SHARKHUNTERS broke this story in the early 1990's.
Young Lt. John F. Kennedy, at 24 years of age, was smitten by the beauty,
charm and wit of 28-year-old Inga Arvad. Did
he know that she was Adolf Hitler’s companion for the 1936 Berlin Olympics?
Did he know that she was the mistress of Axel Wenner-Gren, the world’s
wealthiest man, owner of the Bofors Armament Factory, founder of the Electrolux
Vacuum Cleaner Company, owner of Paradise Island in the Bahamas – and one of
Hitler’s top operatives in the Western Hemisphere? Did he even care? Their
blistering romance was all he could see, but others were watching this romance
with great interest.
FBI chief and absolute enemy of the Kennedys, J. Edgar Hoover had his ‘G-Men’
tail JFK and Inga all over Washington. They
watched the couple, they photographed the couple and even planted microphones in
their hotel
rooms – all to get Hoover
the details he wanted so he could go to FDR and have JFK kicked out of the Navy.
If a US Navy Intelligence officer was carrying on a torrid romance with a
suspected Nazi spy, then Hoover would have all he needed to have J.F.K. tossed
out of the Navy, and to end the political aspirations of a dynasty, planned by 'Papa'
Joe Kennedy.
J.F.K.'s father, Joseph Kennedy Sr., was also watching this budding romance with
great disfavor. This woman was four
years older than his son. She was
suspected of being a German spy. She
was not a Catholic and was divorced. 'Papa'
Joe did not want his son and heir apparent to the political power running
around with such a woman, but he was not about to let Hoover kick his son
totally out of the Navy. 'Papa
Joe' had plans for J.F.K. after the war, and he still had Roosevelt’s ear. They hit upon the solution – make him a war hero - but to
be a war hero, he must be in a combat area.
That’s how an up and coming young Naval Intelligence officer wound up
being a PT boat Skipper in the South Pacific.
It’s all on this DVD.

Black May to the End |
 |
|
Being a U-Boat commander or crewman in the closing moments of the war was almost always a
one-way ride. In ‘Black May’
(May of 1943) the U-Bootwaffe lost nearly four dozen U-boats –
in that month alone! After that
month and for the balance of the war, of every ten U-boats that put to sea on
their first patrol; only one returned!
Only
one of ten returned from their very first patrol and nine did not!
Oberleutnant zur See der Reserve HANS-GEORG HESS (Sharkhunters
Member since 1985) was given command of U-995
in August 1944 – he had celebrated his 21st birthday just three
months earlier. He was the youngest
combat submarine Skipper of World War II and possibly of
all time. He brought his men and
his boat home safely after not just one, but five war patrols.
During these patrols, he sank several ships, dodged aircraft, destroyers
and minefields. He earned the Knights
Cross.
HESS
talks about what it was like being a combat submarine Skipper in the closing
moments of WW II, then answers questions from the audience.
It’s all on this DVD.
Captain HESS speaks in German - his son, also a Sharkhunters Member,
TILMAN HESS translates for the camera.

STRANGE STORIES |
 |
|

Toward
the end of the war, many unusual things took place.
One of those that made the greatest impact on this young U-boat Skipper
took place in late April of 1945.
GroßAdmiral Karl Dönitz was returning to Flensburg (Mürwik), site of
the German Naval Academy and at that time, also the site of the German
Government in the closing moments of the war.
Young Oberleutnant zur See HANS-GEORG HESS needed a ride, so the Großadmiral allowed him to ride along.
Probably the most important subject they discussed came up when Dönitz
asked HESS for his opinion how Germany could persuade England and especially the
United States to stop the war with Germany, and to join with Germany and all
armies head eastward against the Soviet Communists.
Remember, this was the very same idea proposed by American General George
S. Patton. What
was the opinion of HESS?
It’s on the tape, plus a lot more formerly untold stories of World War
II.
Captain HESS speaks in German - his son, also a Sharkhunters Member,
TILMAN HESS translates for the camera.

Kapitänleutnant Prien |
 |
|
This
is an very interesting DVD, covering the short but eventful combat lifetime of Günther Prien.
He was Skipper of U-47, was awarded the Knights
Cross with Oak Leaf,
and after going right into the Royal Navy Home Fleet anchorage at Scapa Flow to
sink the battleship HMS ROYAL OAK, was nicknamed the "Bull of Scapa Flow".
It was made shortly after the war, when real Type
VII-C boats were available for film use.
This film depicts the attack in Scapa Flow which resulted in the sinking
of HMS ROYAL OAK and it has a lot of actual footage shot during
the war as well as some shortly after the war on actual Type VII-C
boats.
This gives a really good look not only at life on the boats and in the
naval bases, but also at life in the homes of the warriors when they were trying
to relax after the rigors of combat. You’ll
see the wives, the homes and the kids as well as the warriors.
It’s a well-presented DVD of the life and times of the German
U-Bootfahrer in the early days of World War II, which were filled with so much
hope and repeated successes.

Hans Göbeler
Interview
- 1992 |

Brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|

On this DVD (more than an hour long), Hans Göbeler tells of his time serving
aboard U-505. He
joined the boat in Lorient after the regular crew finished their working up
trials in the Baltic and rounded England for France.
He was aboard when the boat was captured by the USS GUADALCANAL
Task Force on 4 June 1944 off the coast of Africa.
This DVD had never been seen before and is only now being made
available outside of Sharkhunters.
There is a lot of previously unknown history of U-505 on this
DVD.

Gerhard Richter
Interview
- 1992 |

Brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
Sharkhunters Member GERHARD RICHTER was a radioman on U-81 when they sank the British
aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL in the western Mediterranean and
on this 80 minute-long DVD, he tells about it in great detail.
Did any Italian submarines assist?
How did they set up their attack on the task force? How many men were lost
on ARK ROYAL? Did the destroyers come after them? It's
all on this DVD. You'll love it.

This is pure history from a man who was at the center of this event.
He also tells about the time he set up the radio station at U-boat
Headquarters at Kerneval outside Lorient. Who took over his room?
You will be surprised at the answer.
He later was posted to the K-Verband and was 'Skipper' of his own one-man
U-Boat.

Detlev Zimmermann
Interview
- 1992 |

Brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
DETLEV ZIMMERMANN was a diving planesman on U-315 when that boat
was caught in an anti-submarine net at the entrance to the Kola Bay (northern
Russia) in 1944. Their mission was to penetrate the harbor and sink the
Soviet battleship ARCHANGELSK, the former Royal
Navy HMS ROYAL SOVEREIGN - and they were to sink it for the
propaganda value. What actually took place after they were
ensnared in an anti-submarine net?

DETLEV is a
technically-oriented guy, so this DVD also contains a lot of information on how the various systems work in the U-Boot
that you cannot find anywhere else.

CHAMPAGNE IN THE COMBAT BOOT |
 |
|
This is a laugh riot from beginning to end.
Two German soldiers are in bed with their French girlfriends when an
American patrol shows up and catches them – stark naked. Since they are not wearing their uniforms (or anything else)
the Americans think the guys are the French boyfriends and chase them out of the
room. The Americans then take off
their clothes for what they think will be their time with the girls, but the
girls dash off with their uniforms and give them to their German boyfriends.
The two Germans not only put on the American uniforms, they steal the
American tank that was left outside.
Imagine
how upset the Americans were when they discovered that the girls were gone,
their uniforms AND their tank were also gone, and one of their guys somehow had
a big Balkon Cross painted on his chest! Imagine how difficult it was when the two Germans, wearing
American uniforms and driving an American tank, tried to explain to the old
German soldier in charge of supplies, that they were really with the Wehrmacht
and not American saboteurs. Imagine
how UNIMPRESSED the Waffen SS sergeant was with their story, but the laughs
never stop and the guys continue to escape one unlikely situation after another.
The
French all speak French in this film, the Germans all speak German and the
Americans all speak English. You
will laugh with this film from beginning to the end, and without letup.

Sharkhunters Member ERICH TOPP was one of only five U-Boaters to earn the
KNIGHTS CROSS
with OAK LEAF
and CROSSED SWORDS, and was the
3rd most successful
submarine Skipper in World War Two. He sank the
first American warship (USS REUBEN JAMES) a month

TOPP speaks about the REUBEN JAMES; compares submarine tactics between WW II and today's modern
submarines; and discusses the Treaty of Versailles and what
effect that had on the outbreak of WW II.
What did he
think of Großadmiral Dönitz? Of his fellow

REINHARD HARDEGEN, Sharkhunters Member since 1985, sank the first ship in
American waters during Operation Paukenschlag (Drumbeat) and
so is known as the Drumbeater, and he is also the only surviving

SECRETS OF THE THIRD REICH |
 |
|
Much of the occult plans and beliefs of the Third Reich have been given a minor
look, but there was a great deal of delving into these ‘black’
sciences before and during the war. The
Thule Society, Tesla, the Knights of the Teutonic Order, anti-gravity
propulsion, and anti-magnetic propulsion are all looked at in this unusual DVD
and some shots are even in color!
If you are afraid of the occult and the unexplained, you don’t want this DVD.
But if you have a strong curiosity, then this DVD holds many fascinating
topics for you.
One hour of secret SS projects, long thought to be mere
imaginations.....see what you think after you see the actual films of
these 'Black Sun' projects. Maybe there WERE secret projects -
maybe we weren't supposed to know about them - make your own decision
after you view this film.

Gerd Thäter
INTERVIEW - 1994 |
 |
|
Fregettenkapitän GERD THÄTER,
Sharkhunters Member since 1986, was one of an extremely small group of submarine
Skippers to make the passage through the Gates of Hell (Straits of
Gibraltar) not once – but twice!
A combat submarine officer throughout the entire war, almost all of those years
as a Skipper, GERD remembers this combat, his two passages through Gibraltar,
and his last boat U-3506, one of the three Type XXI U-boats still
entombed in the Lost Bunker.
He tells about it in this 1994 interview with Sharkhunters.
Sharkhunters found his Type XXI boat (U-3506) in a bunker in 1988!
GERD came from a German navy family – his father was a U-Boat Skipper in World
War One and served again in World War II; his brother also served in the
Kriegsmarine then in the Bundsmarine later on. GERD always joked that he was
the black sheep of the family – his father retired as a Vizeadmiral (three
stars), his brother retired as a Konteradmiral (two stars) but GERD retired as
Fregettenkapitän (junior Captain). He had a quick sense of humor and that is
shown in this DVD.

Otto Kretschmer
INTERVIEW - 1994 |
 |
|
Sharkhunters Member OTTO KRETSCHMER, known as 'Silent Otto' for his refusal to
make propaganda speeches, was the first of only five U-boat Skippers to
earn the KNIGHTS CROSS with
OAK LEAF and
CROSSED
SWORDS and was the MOST successful
submarine Skipper of any nation in WW II. His daily average
tonnage sunk equaled that of Lothar von Arnaud de la Perrier, the most
successful submarine Skipper ever in history.
What were his
special tactics to penetrate the defensive screen of a convoy so he could
attack on the surface while running amongst the merchant ships? How
did he manage to sink more ships than anyone else in World War II - and in
just a little more than one year of combat? Do sinking ships really
create a suction that can pull a swimmer down? Did Kretschmer really
stand at attention on the bridge of U-99 as it sank out from
under him? What did he think of Großadmiral Dönitz? What did
he think of his fellow Skippers? What makes a good submarine
Skipper? All these questions are answered on this DVD as well as
his memories of the war. It is indeed, living history.

Hans-Georg Hess
-
INTERVIEW - 1994
|
 |
|
Sharkhunters Member HESS was the youngest combat submarine commander of World War II,
possibly of all time, having command of U-995 a few
months past his 21st birthday. He earned the
KNIGHTS CROSS
and
completed half a dozen successful patrols.
HESS and Großadmiral Dönitz rode together from Berlin to
Flensburg - the Admiral hoped the Americans and
British would join with Germany against the Soviet Union and drive the
Russians out of Europe. What was the reply from HESS? How did
HESS manage to come home from all those patrols at a time when U-boats
were usually sunk on their first patrol - and he sank ships
too! What did he think of Großadmiral Dönitz? What did
he think of his fellow Skippers? What makes a good submarine
Skipper? All these questions are answered on this DVD as well as
his memories of the war.

War on our Shores |
 |
|
"War on our
Shores" tells of the German U-Boats and their early and easy successes
against shipping off the east coast of the United States. This
film is made up of combat action films interspersed with interviews with
men who fought in the Battle of the Atlantic like HERBERT WERNER
(18-1983) and U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ASW Skippers.
Among the action footage, we see U-853, which was sunk
between Long Island, NY and Block Island, CT. This was the last
U-Boat sunk in American waters.

as U-Who and later identified as U-869.
This DVD shows the dive boat going out, preparations for the dive, the
dive itself and all around the boat, and the divers back on board the dive boat.
This is completely different footage than on DVD H-17 and
was shot on a subsequent dive - well after three divers had been lost on this
boat.

The LACONIA
Incident!
Sharkhunters
Member WILLIE GRAP served as a crewmember of U-506 for many patrols, including
the one on which they, along with many other German & Italian
submarines, raced to aid U-156 (Hartenstein) after the
sinking of the LACONIA. What
was it like for a U-boat designed to carry 55 men at most to have nearly 200 on
board, including women and children?
WILLIE tells about it.

U-Boat Up the Mississippi?
Did any German U-boats go up the Mississippi River at any time during the war? Many rumors have been told, disputed and told again.
Hear what WILLIE has to say
about it – fact right from the guy who was there!
This is more great first-person history.

GERMANY SPECIAL - 1992 |

Brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
EXTERNSTEINE
- In 1992, we visited the
Externsteine, which is Germany’s equal of Britain’s Stonehenge although
this was natural, not man-made. This
is a strange, huge rock formation which formed a natural gate through which
merchants and armies alike had to transit.
There are graves chiseled into the stone and in a room at the very top (a
LONG way up!!) we are in an ancient observatory. There were
mysterious rituals here, centuries ago.
WEWELSBURG CASTLE
-
We
visit mysterious Wewelsburg Castle where Heinrich Himmler planned to rebuild the
Knights of the Teutonic Order.
Our guide, a Government trained left-wing radical, gave us the tour and
told how terrible the German people were. We
ignored his ravings and just videotaped the castle. He said his
nickname was ‘Hot Lips’ but we had a different name for him
pertaining to another part of the human anatomy.
The scenes of the castle are just awesome!
NAVAL ACADEMY
-
Enjoy one of our dinners together and then we are guests of honor at the
majestically beautiful German Naval Academy at Flensburg/Mürwik.
These beautiful buildings have stood for centuries and have felt the
footsteps of such cadets as von Spee, Bismarck, Weddigen, de la Perrier,
KRETSCHMER, Prien, Schepke, TOPP, HARDEGEN, THÄTER and too many more to name.
The view is breathtaking!

KATOH HAYABUSA SENTOTAI
(Peregrine Falcon) |

A brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
This
DVD is from a propaganda movie made in 1943.
Hayabusa (Peregrine Falcon) is the endearing name for the
Imperial Army’s Type-1 fighter (code named OSCAR
by the Allies). The movie is about
Major General (posthumously) Tateo Katoh and his Fighter Wing 64.
Lt. Col. Katoh was a charismatic leader and an outstanding pilot himself.
By May 1942, when he was shot down and killed by a BLENHEIM
bomber which he was chasing over the Indian Ocean, his Wing had destroyed more
than 850 enemy aircraft in the air and on the ground.
Pilots were not allowed to keep their own score.
The movie depicts the era in which the Japanese Army Air Force was truly
invincible. The Wing’s
song, sung in the early part of the film, was loved much during the war and is
popular today in Japan.
There are a lot of Japanese military and folk music in this film - very stirring.
This is an outstanding film, full of very real aerial combat action.
The dogfights are real, taken from
the Japanese gun cameras. We see
top of the line Japanese fighters and bombers in action as well as British P-40
aircraft in the skies. The action in this DVD never stops – and it is all footage
never before seen! A Japanese film producer of the 1940's has opened his
private vault to us, and this is one of the rare films we obtained from
him. This DVD has never been seen before SHARKHUNTERS offered it.

U-505
CAPTURE
ASSORTED U-BOAT ACTION
US
SUBMARINES IN ACTION |
 |
|
The
U-505 capture is the propaganda film “Now it can be told”
which was shown to production plant workers after the fall of Germany, meant to
spur workers on until Japan would be defeated as well - and to produce a lot of
war materiel and a lot of jobs. There
are lots of combat scenes of the actual capture of U-505,
including the depth charge runs by USS CHATELLAIN and USS
PILLSBURY, strafing runs by the HELLCATS, the intense fire
on the conning tower of U-505 as she breaks the surface, the
submarine alongside the DE and finally, U-505 on a towline behind
the aircraft carrier USS GUADALCANAL. U-505
was the first enemy Man-O-War captured on the high seas by the US Navy since HMS
PEACOCK was captured in 1815 during the War of 1812.
Also in the DVD, we see excellent scenes of German U-boats in combat as well as
US Navy submarines in combat in the Pacific. This DVD is filled with
submarine combat action.

Blue Angel |
 |
|
This
is the film that made Marlene Dietrich famous.
A conservative old professor is taken in by the charms of a cabaret
singer and is so mesmerized by her that he gives her his money, and spends so
much time in the cabaret that his students spy on him and ridicule him, and his
career as a professor comes to a bad end.

The fact that he gets in a fight with a sea captain over the singer and
turns to drink also helps his career to its quick end.
Just to be near her, he eventually joins her group and plays a clown in
her show, being routinely humiliated as part of the act.
The film ends with his – well, we can’t give away the entire story but
this is a true classic.

Ohm Krüger |
 |
|
This German-made film covers
the South African struggle between the Dutch and the British in the Boer
Wars of a century ago. Some scenes are quite gruesome...........
‘Ohm Kruger’ (Uncle Kruger)
was made in Germany during World War II to instill purpose and drive in
the German people as the war began to turn against Germany.
Historians will remember
that it was England during the Boer Wars and not Germany during world
War Two that invented the concept of the Concentration Camp. Emily
Hobhouse, an Englishwoman of the time, protested strongly against the
concentration camps that were used to primarily house Boer women and
children, with the resultant starvation, disease and finally gruesome
death. A South African submarine (French built DAPHNE Class) was
named in her honor and our Sharkhunters group rode aboard that submarine
during our ‘Operation Sub-Afrika’ in 1990. The South African
military treated us as family and it is a very beautiful country.

Why was U-99 in that location?
Why did the boat dive against specific orders of the Skipper?
How was U-99 spotted by the Royal Navy?
What was it like in the P.o.W. Camp (photo above) - and how did he get

the ROVER BOYS EXPRESS |

A brand new,

|
|
This is the story of the B-29 known as the
ROVER BOYS EXPRESS, told by the Navigator, Lt. 'Hap'
Halloran. They were shot down over Japan and Hap was taken
prisoner. He talks about the bombing strategy and operations, but he
also speaks in depth about the experiences in the P.o.W. camp. It was
brutal, but he met and became friends with the most famous prisoner in
the camp, Marine Corps Major Greg ‘Pappy’ Boyington.
He saw Boyington’s gaunt wasted shell of himself and hoped that he would
not look like that. Very quickly – he did.
What was life like in a Japanese P.O.W. camp? This DVD will open your
eyes. The Japanese jailors/guards were very brutal…..beatings, their
only drinking water was that was used to wash the dishes first.

INTERVIEW - 2000 |

A brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
During our 2000 tour of Germany with cameras, we shot interviews
with many veterans but also with historian Sharkhunters President
HARRY COOPER, who is recognized as one of the world's leading
researchers on the U-boat wars. He gives us his thoughts on many
topics, some previously unknown but reported in the KTB Magazine
of Sharkhunters.
What was life like for a U-boater? How were the U-boats able to be so
successful in the first half of the war? What led to their loss of high
seas supremacy? Why did they continue to set out on war patrols when
they knew they had a 9 out of 10 chance of being killed? Answers are
all on this DVD.
There are things in this tape that are not on any other DVD.
In the 1970’s Cooper drove the high banked superspeedways. He
founded Sharkhunters in February 1983.

EVE BRAUN'S HOME
MOVIES - IN COLOR! |
 |
|
Being the mistress
of a man so powerful as Adolf Hitler, Eva Braun had access to something
unavailable to almost anyone else at the time –
color movie film!
This newly discovered one hour long videotape came from selections of
Eva Braun’s home movies – all in
color. You’ll see many world leaders
of the 1930's as they come to Hitler's Berghoff for state visits and you
may be surprised, shocked even at who they were. But they all came to
meet with Hitler.

You will see famous people of the Third Reich and their winter homes as
well as the breathtaking Bavarian Alps. There is some humor, some
business and a lot of normal ‘home movie' qualities to this film,
made by Eva Braun herself.
None
of these houses or buildings are standing any longer – the result of the
new German Government’s attempt at wiping out this history.

THE BUNKERS IN 1945 |
 |
|
In this recently discovered documentary, we see the myriad of
tunnels and bunkers dug into the mountain known as the Obersalzberg.
Most of these tunnels and bunkers no longer exist, as the new German
Government is destroying them as quickly as they can locate them.
This film was made shortly after the end of WW II by U. S. Army
cinematographers, however the voice-over is in German. In this DVD you
will go into tunnel after tunnel that are now only fading memories for a
few old men who were there. Due to the age of the original film and
this DVD being copied by older technologies, there is some ‘flip’
in the film but the end result is great – and it is pure history.
Many
of the tunnels no longer exist – the result of the new German
Government’s attempt at wiping out this history.

Corregidor Sokogeki |

A brand new,
never before seen DVD! |
|
This is Japanese and it
means ‘All out Attack on Corregidor’, spring of 1942.
This is obviously a propaganda film, as we first see happy Filipinos
under Japanese occupation. A soldier distributes candy to children.
Then we watch the intense Japanese preparations for their attack against
Corregidor. Every branch of the Japanese Army, such as artillery,
tanks, communications, logistics etc. is there.
May 3rd the officers get together and make plans. American
artillery on Corregidor hits back against Japanese on Bataan.
May 5th, Japanese man their barges after dark and the barges
are launched at 2300 hours. This DVD gives a really clear picture as
they evidentially used infra-red film.
Then we see the ruins of American defenses all over the island. There
are prisoners by the hundreds on this film. The life in the tunnels is
extremely interesting! Many American nurses are seen in the film.
We see graceful SALLY twin-engine bombers and in one
extraordinary shot, we see the bombers decelerating with their landing
gear down before releasing their bombs. Many single-engine ANN
light bombers, with fixed landing gear, are seen in this film as are
other Japanese aircraft. Japanese Air Force is seen in action in this
film, never before seen.
These are actual Japanese combat films!
This DVD has never before been seen, as the master film was hidden for
decades in the vault of a Japanese film producer until he sent it to
SHARKHUNTERS.

Sensuikan Iti Go |

A brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
This is Japanese and it means “Submarine
Number One”. Lt. Sakuma is captain of submarine No. 6 and the
first victim of Japan’s first submarine accident. In his hometown of
Mikata, a teacher in a primary school tells the pupils about how bravely
Lt. Sakuma and his men behaved at the time of the accident; the boys are
impressed.
Tne boy pledges that he will become a naval officer and will command a
submarine. Another boy pledges that he will go to university to be a
ship-building engineer and build excellent submarines. They follow
their intended paths and the first boy enters the Naval Academy and
becomes an officer. He then attends the Kure Submarine School (Japan’s
version of New London), where Submarine No. 6 has been made into a
shrine and is worshipped.
The second boy graduates from the university and joins a shipbuilding
firm. He is worked too hard and gets sick, but the submarine he
designed is finally completed. His friend is appointed its captain.
One day he parks his submarine on the spot where Lt. Sakuma died in the
accident and salutes the soul of the brave officer.
This film was made in 1941 and released just before the beginning of the
American-Japanese phase of the war. The Japanese combined fleet is
shown in full force, although some of the aircraft look a little
obsolete. Submarine No. 6 was scrapped at the end of the war. Two
songs, ‘Sensuikan no uta’ (Song of Submarine) and ‘Umino
kesshitai’ (forlorn hopes at sea) are sung in this DVD; powerful
music! Check out how really big the diesels are.
This film too, come to us from the private vault of a Japanese film
producer and has never been seen before.

COMBAT FOOTAGE
of the great ACES including KRETSCHMER, TOPP, Lüth,
Gysae, Prien and so many more. There are also scenes of the homecoming
of the U-boats with their tonnage pennants fluttering, the bearded
crewmen, the bands and the girls with flowers. This was made in the
early days of the Battle of the Atlantic where the U-boats were all
powerful........before their fortunes changed in 'Black May' of
1943.
You'll see building and launching U-boats as well as loading them out
for combat patrols - food, vegetables by the crate, shells for the deck
guns and of course, the torpedo loading. You'll see Großadmiral Karl
Dönitz with many of the Skippers including KRETSCHMER, Prien,
Schepke, Brandi, Gysae and more.
You'll see ERICH TOPP receiving his Oak Leaf to his
Knights Cross from Hitler along with Lüth receiving his
Diamonds in the same ceremony. You'll see the rescue of the crew of the
two raider ships from the South Atlantic by several U-boats headed by
KARL-FRIEDERICH MERTEN in command of U-68. They towed
a string of lifeboats all the way back to their French base! It's all
here on the DVD.
ITALIAN
BOATS -
There are Italian submarines in combat as well on this tape. It is near
Christmas time, so the crew of one U-boat is bringing their Christmas
tree and many gifts aboard, as well as guitars and other musical
instruments to bring a little bit of home with them on patrol.
There is plenty of combat action on this DVD, and there is a chart
showing the best way for U-boats to attack convoys. It shows where the
tankers would be, where the escorts would patrol, and it shows how to
penetrate and attack the fattest ships. It's all on this DVD.
The DVD closes with scenes of the German U-boat Memorial, where
SHARKHUNTERS has sent about $7,000 so far - a sad but beautiful
place.
This DVD had not been seen before it was offered by SHARKHUNTERS.

the Reich Chancellery
- - - in
Berchdesgaten! |
 |
|
That’s right – there was another Chancellery, separate from the one
in Berlin. When the war was turning against Germany, there was a plan
to move the seat of Government to the “Southern Redoubt”,
the fortified area around Berchtesgaden. Here there were homes for
Hitler, Göring, Bormann and others as well as miles upon miles of
tunnels and bunkers all through the mountain called the Obersalzberg.
In this area was also a Chancellery, ready for them to move in, and
continue running the German Government from here. We were tipped off to
its existence by BUD and STELLA DANA and through them, we
obtained this tape.
In this German spoken DVD, you’ll see not only this Chancellery, but
also homes and the hotels used for the troops; you’ll see many of the
famous people who visited Hitler before the war including the British
Prime Minister and German leaders including Himmler, Bormann, Heydrich
and many more. Naturally, the beautiful Bavarian countryside is also
prominent in this
COLOR DVD.

Rhine Cruise |
 |
|
The beautiful River Rhine is not only one of the most important
waterways in Europe, with its impressive length of 1,320 kilometers, it
is also a natural frontier to France, and connects several countries in
Europe. On its way from its birthplace, a spring in Switzerland, to its
mouth at the North Sea, it passes some of the favorite European cultural
cities and towns such as Basel, Straßburg and Rüdesheim - Düsseldorf and
Köln are others. The Rhine even finds its way through a very impressive
and varied landscape.
Near Schaffhausen, the river falls 21 meters (about 65 feet) and so is
the biggest waterfall of Europe. Well known also is the boulder known
as the Lorelei, sung about by poets and in folk songs. It is
told that a beautiful girl named Lorelei brushed her hair on the rock
and so it was the fate of the sailors, blinded by her beauty, that they
lost control of their ships and crashed onto the rock.
This is only one legend about this beautiful river. It is yours to find
others, and the beauty abounds around every bend in the romantic castles
and mysterious landscape.
You’ll see all this and more on our new DVD cruising this beautiful
river. There are ten (or more) centuries of history along the Rhine and
castles almost as old. There are stops for lunch, touring and
sightseeing. A must for your travel collection

Song of My Comrades |

A brand new,

INTERNATIONAL WARSHIPS
- This
film was made in 1938 and released in 1939. What is unique about this
film is that it was produced by the German film specialist Richard Angst
with the cooperation of the Japanese Navy. The film begins with scenes
of Shanghai under Japanese occupation - many warships on the Wangpo
River – Japanese, American, British and French.
JAPANESE PATROLS - The war between Japan and China began
in July 1937 and by 1938, Japan had occupied Nanking, the capital, as
well as the entire lower Yangtze Region. Japanese riverboat patrols are
seen winding through the maze of waterways and we watch as they search
civilian ships and boats for weapons, provisions for locals, supplies
for guerilla fighters and they battle with these bands.
LOCAL SCENES - The DVD shows the Japanese befriending the
local inhabitants, help reopen factories, offer medical services etc.
This is at a time when China was in great confusion and the Nationalist
Government was waging war not only against Japan, but the Communists as
well. There were many independent factions fighting amongst themselves
so to most Chinese, Japan was just one more of them.
SMALL ARMS - This film will be very interesting to those
interested in small arms. You’ll see Japanese machine guns, light and
heavy, in action as river patrol boats are well equipped with these
weapons.
The master for this DVD was a film kept in the secret vault of a friend
of Sharkhunters in Japan;

|
This DVD also covers the Berghof, the tunnels and bunkers, and the
towns on the Obersalzberg, but it shows the US Army as they come to
occupy the area. The battle damage is severe in some areas, almost
non-existent in others. The camera follows the G.I.s in their jeeps, ‘deuce-and-a-half’,
‘six-by’ and ‘ten-by’ trucks as they patrol the entire
area. Many of these buildings, structures and towns are still standing
today, rebuilt of course. We see them and visit them on our ‘Patrols’
in Germany. Others were torn down by the German Government in an effort
to erase all traces of the Third Reich.

Only the Elders |

This is a brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
This Soviet
fighter squadron is known as the ‘Singing Squadron’ because the
commander, Captain Titarenko understood the importance of songs and
jokes in the everyday stress of military operations. His pilots
considered themselves as the ‘Elders’ even though the oldest was
just barely twenty years of age. The young ‘green’ newcomers
arriving at the front after rudimentary training at the Air Force
Academies were not allowed into combat. They still had to experience
the tough realities of battle – the happiness of the first victory, the
grandeur of brotherhood sealed in blood as well as the first innocent
love and the bitter loss of friends. All too soon the command of ‘Only
the Elders” enter the battle – and they are the ones rushing to
their fighter planes.
There is
some combat action showing Russian YAK fighters. The
hero is in the air a short time, then crashes nicely on an airfield in
the forest. The Ops Office is in a rude bunker where snow creeps
through cracks in the board walls.
Two pretty
young women fighter pilots land in their biplane and are immediately
welcomed by the squadron. Love blooms for these two women with a couple
of the male pilots, but then duty calls – and they are off to bomb
German targets. They do not return – hearts are broken, resolve to
fight the Germans is toughened, and a memorial is made to the two women
pilots.
This film came

Soviet Dive Bombers |

This is a brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
Russian music is played
throughout this DVD – even as the Soviet dive bombers are attacking
German cities.
This is real combat footage! The planes return
to their snow-bound aerodrome and the pilots play an early game of ‘Foos
Ball’ in the ready room, which is part of a dug-in trench
system. These are
real Soviet aircraft in this film, real
trucks, motorcycles etc. The field canteen is a horse-drawn cart, and
some pilots are making their own home brew vodka. They relax and play
at the primitive restaurant near the base while consuming their fresh
vodka.
Into the air, and they
tangle with a group of FW 190 fighters. They shoot one
down, then duck into the clouds for cover. Back at the base, they talk
of their combat that day while watching movies. We see armorers loading
and fusing the bombs for the next mission while our hero is making time
with the waitress from the nearby restaurant.
This mission does not go
well – the hero’s plane is disabled and the pilot of a FW 190
flies alongside him and gestures for him to land on the German airfield.
He smiles, nods – and then crashed his plane into a row of neatly parked
FW-190 fighters, destroying them all……and himself in the
act.

Soviet Torpedo Bombers
|

This is a brand new,
never before seen DVD!
|
|
1944 - A Navy Air
Regiment is stationed at a small airfield above the Arctic Circle. For
the pilots this is both the front and rear area. They live here with
their families, leading a seemingly normal life giving little parties
yet going out to battle the Germans and knowing that any day might be
their last.
The aircraft are all
real – Soviet
fighters, bombers and even flying boats. We see the men flying out on a
mission, the women staying at home. The target is a German convoy and
we are on board the German destroyers as the Alarm sounds and the men
rush to their battle stations. The destroyers make heavy smoke over the
convoy as the anti aircraft guns open up at the Soviet torpedo bombers.
The planes bore in anyway – a ship is hit, but the plane is also hit and
an engine is in flames but they deliver their torpedo and another ship
is destroyed. The plane is taking more hits and is totally engulfed in
flames, so the Soviet pilot dives directly into another ship.
The flying boat goes out
on recon and finds a downed German fighter; they land in the snow
nearby. The coffee in the thermos is still hot. Back to base where a
camp show is going on. There is singing, drinking and dancing in the
bar with the wives. Someone has found some ice cream which they all
share. All too soon it is over, and the families board a ship for their
return to the mainland. There are many tearful goodbyes.
The aircrew shares a chocolate bar in a staff car for their return to
base where the armorers are using reindeer to haul torpedoes to the
planes. In the briefing, they are told a German U-Boat has been spotted
in the waters nearby. On the way to attack a German convoy, they follow
a debris field and find to their horror, the ship carrying their
families has been attacked and sunk by the very U-Boat they are
hunting. There is tremendous grief.
They find the German
convoy and despite intense flak, they go in for the attack and they find
the U-Boat. Their torpedoes hit it and it disintegrates with a
tremendous explosion. The German flak takes its toll and the plane, on
fire, crashes into the sea.
This film came
to us from our friends in the former USSR.
This film has never been seen

as Junta.
During the full moon, a mystical blue light emanating from a grotto high
in the Alps, draws men to climb after the source only to fall to their
deaths. What causes this beautiful blue light that makes men face
certain death for its riches? Only Junta, the beautiful gypsy girl, can
climb to this strange grotto in safety.
A handsome stranger comes to the little village of Santa Maria in the
high Alps, and is smitten by the sultry Junta. A young man of the
village just fell to his death trying to reach the Blue Light. The
angry townspeople attempt to stone her and chase her from their
village. The stranger follows Junta to her little cabin in the high
Alps, which she shares with her little brother.
Junta and the handsome stranger fall in love and he moves in to her
little cottage – and then comes the next full moon. Junta begins her
dangerous climb and he secretly follows, and learns her secret way up
the mountain into the mysterious grotto that produces the blue light.
He finds thousands of precious gems, and he tells her that he will turn
this into a fortune for them and they will be rich.
He returns to the village of Santa Maria and tells everyone of the
secret path. The men all hurry up the mountain, not to help but to loot
in an orgy of plunder. On their return, they are all dressed in fine
clothes, bought with the proceeds of their plunder, and they celebrate
wildly in the local tavern.
When Junta returns to the grotto and sees the plunder and devastation,
no gems remaining, she is consumed by despair. Her hands slip on the
mountain, and she plummets to her death in the valley far below. Her
body is discovered by her broken hearted lover – the blue light is
extinguished.
This surreal film highlights the athletic beauty of LENI RIEFENSTAHL
as she climbs the steep mountains in a flimsy dress. The film also
shows the majestic beauty of the Alps, and of the life lived by the
people of the area almost 100 years ago. It is a great look back into
history.

SOS ICEBERG!
Very rare English
version! |

This is a LENI RIEFENSTAHL film! |
|
A 1933 film with LENI RIEFENSTAHL as Mrs. Ellen Lawrence, and
Ernst Udet as himself.
The Lawrence
Expedition begins on a happy note at a formal dinner with high hopes of
success. Dr. Lawrence smiles with assurance as his beautiful wife (LENI)
beams up at him over dinner.
The expedition
departs on a tall sailing ship. The men disembark on an icy shore and
set out into the frozen wilderness. There is discord as the days drag
on into weeks and the party is separated. They face dangers including
heavy snowstorms, collapsing walls of snow and ice. Only one dog and
the sled with the scientific equipment are saved, but the sleds with the
food is gone as is almost all hope – yet they plod onwards, hoping to
find an Eskimo village.
They mount a huge
ice formation to float across the frigid waters of the fjord, but all
too soon they realize that the current is taking them out to sea. They
call for help on their short wave radio, and they open their last can of
food. They find a weak and tired Dr. Lawrence.
Their distress
signals are picked up by stations around the world, and soon Mrs.
Lawrence (LENI) is on her way in a seaplane, flying to rescue her
husband. She flies over and around icy barriers and suddenly finds the
men, but wrecks her seaplane on the landing and is reunited with her
husband – and almost certain death.
Famed pilot Ernst
Udet then heads for the frozen wastelands in his seaplane and naturally,
he finds them and flies to the nearby Eskimo village for help. Soon,
there is a whole fleet of Eskimos in kayaks heading to rescue the few
survivors. Despite the hardships, LENI is still beautiful in her
white fur suit – and perfect make up.
This is a true
melodrama of the 1930’s, featuring a beautiful LENI & some
thrilling flying by Udet, one of the true legends of aviation.
This is the English version – very rare!

"Victory of Faith"
- 1933 |
|

This is a LENI RIEFENSTAHL film! |
|
This, the 1933
Reichsparteidt (party congress) is the first real cinematographic effort
of LENI RIEFENSTAHL, as she shows the world her dynamic
techniques of camera angles, moving cameras, overhead shots and a whole
new world of filming techniques.
There are
hundreds of thousands who come out to greet Adolf Hitler and his
entourage as they arrive aboard their Ju-52 at the
Nürnberg Airport. The camera follows the procession along the ancient
city streets to the Zeppelinfeld where hundreds of thousands more are
waiting including 65,000 Hitler Youth and 100,000 of the SA. Thousands
of banners and standards parade past the camera as the majestic zeppelin
HINDENBURG soars overhead.
Naturally, there
is the 'Blood Flag Ceremony' and speeches by many
dignitaries and even more are seen in this film including Göring, Röhm,
Hess, Himmler, Goebbels, Großadmiral Raeder and so many more. The
leader of the Italian 'Black Shirts' makes an impassioned
speech, and it is all captured on this film.
This film shows
the blossoming of LENI RIEFENSTAHL as she comes of age as a film
director and producer. If you have seen the movies ‘the Lion King’ or
'Jewel of the Nile' you will understand where they got some of their
filming concepts.

The 1936 film produced by LENI RIEFENSTAHL
This DVD begins
with a haunting trip back in time to the ruins of ancient Greece,
birthplace of the Olympics. Statues, artworks and temples was woven
into the beginnings of this film with haunting music that will take you
back three thousand years.
Slowly the
statues begin to move, and LENI's production comes alive with
beautiful young women dancing on the beach in the nude. Then the Torch
Runner begins the long journey from Mount Olympus. Through country
after country, city after city, along the seashore and through the
mountains he runs, to ultimately reach Berlin. He runs into the Olympic
Stadium to the tumultuous roar of hundreds of thousands.
The Parade of
Nations, fifty-one in all (some of which no longer exist) march their
athletes past the reviewing stand. We watch the Torch Runner as he
comes through the Brandenburg Gate to the Olympic Stadium, once around
the running track and then up the giant stairs to light the Olympic
Flame. The games begin with great flair and pageantry and all are
announced by an English speaking announcer. They begin with the Discus
in which the United States placed first and second, and they close with
the Marathon that was won by Japan.
This DVD is
loaded with pomp and pageantry amid singing, bands playing, bells
chiming - it is a fantastic look into an age past, an age of beauty and
ceremony that will never be seen again in our lifetime.

Nürnberg
1935 - it is the re-emergence of the Wehrmacht. Dawn is breaking. Men
are waking, washing, shaving, donning their uniforms. Hot porridge is
bubbling in huge kettles for breakfast. The sun is breaking over the
trees, behind the row upon row of tents where the men have bivouacked.
The men fall in and the massive parade begins. The sun glints off the
polished buttons, off the well cleaned rifles.
Infantry,
cavalry, cannon, armor & air forces begin an exercise; mock combat on
the fields as dignitaries including Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler,
Hermann Göring, Josef Goebbels and Rudolf Hess look on with great
appreciation. Cannon and field pieces are quickly run into place;
sights are set and guns blaze.
Planes fill the
skies - the world's finest and most modern combat aircraft of their
day. The 88's go into action, along with 37mm and 20mm automatic AA
guns.
This film
showcases the rapidly emerging Wehrmacht. There is always action going
on in this film, coupled with stirring German folk music and powerful
march music.

This DVD begins
softly, with overviews of lakes and forests with morning birds making
their rounds. Stirring music builds and builds as the morning sun
breaks through the trees. The athletes begin their day too with their
workouts in running, swimming etc. then comes the shaving and morning
showers as the mists rise from over the lakes and meadows. The athletes
meet for breakfast.
They begin with
gymnastics - the rings, the parallel bars and the high bar then out to
sea for the various sailing races where Holland, Germany and Great
Britain win their respective events.
Once back on
land, the best athletes in the world take part in the Pentathlon in
which Germany, the United States and Italy finish in the top three medal
positions. In the Decathlon, the toughest test of the world's best
athletes and the USA took all three medals.
In the very
difficult Equestrian Field Events, riders from Germany, Japan, England,
Denmark, Italy and Poland fell from their mounts while the Dutch horse
merely refused to jump and was disqualified.
The DVD continues
with Rowing, Women's Diving in which the USA took all three medals,
Men's 200 meter breaststroke that was won by Japan, Men's Freestyle
Swimming, Women's Freestyle won by Holland and the Men's High Diving.
The film closes with chorale singing, flags waving and it too, is a
fantastic look into a bygone age, an age of beauty and ceremony that
will probably never be seen again in our lifetime.

History of the Reich |
 |
|
This DVD begins with pre-war
architecture and plans, starting in 1933. It covers the building of the
autobahn and historic sites such as Zeppelnfeld and other buildings in
Nürnberg. It also shows the many famous buildings in München, Berlin
and on the beautiful Obersalzberg where Hitler, Göring, Bormann and
Speer had homes. There are many well-known people of the Reich in this
film; men, women, military and civilians - you will recognize them all.
Feldherrenhalle in München is covered exceptionally well and this DVD
covers the Party history from the very beginning with a lot of historic
film footage filled with great pageantry.
This DVD also covers the history of von Hindenburg from his early years
through his death and funeral. It shows the massive memorial to the
Field Marshall and his burial crypt. It was originally the Tannenberg
Battle Memorial then it became the Hindenburg Memorial and burial crypt.
This beautiful piece of history is gone - destroyed by the Soviet puppet
Polish Government in 1948.
There is a great deal of footage on the majestic beauty of the Berghof
and the Obersalzberg. This DVD takes you
inside the Berghof,
room by room, with lengthy descriptions then to the Eagle’s Nest for a
thorough tour of that historic building.

VLASSOV |
 |
|
This DVD begins with
heavy combat in Russia. Vlassov was a Major General in command of the
Russian 20th Army and after the defense of Moscow, was
promoted to Lt. General and decorated as Hero of the Soviet Union,
their highest award. He took command of the 2nd Strike Force
to liberate Leningrad, but he was captured by the German Army and was
shipped to the P.o.W. camp run by Gerhard Gahlen in Venizia, Ukraine.
Vlassov decides to cooperate with his German captors in an effort to
bring Stalin down, and so he becomes part of the propaganda effort
against Stalin and the Soviet Government. The plan was hatched to form
a “Russian Liberation Army” made up of regular German Army
troops as well as Russian prisoners of war. The “Russian
Liberation Army” existed only on paper at the time.
This DVD
features a lot of combat action, actual interviews and is filled with
powerful Russian music.
Vlassov meets with Heinrich Himmler at the Wulfschantz, and talks about
a counter Stalin push. Vlassov meets with Göring and Goebbels in
January of 1945. In February of 1945, Vlassov takes command of the 1st
Division of Russians against Stalin. The Germans refused to allow
Vlassov to have more than one division until he had proven himself, but
the clock was about to run out on this operation, and on the war - as
well as Vlassov's life itself.
With the fall of Germany in May of 1945, the thousands of soldiers of
the “Russian Liberation Army” were turned over to the
Soviets where they received quick ‘justice’ - they were
immediately shot. Vlassov and his staff were hanged. Stalin was not
noted for his mercy…..

the Winter War |
 |
|
The Soviet
military needed more ports on the eastern end of the Baltic Sea near the
Gulf of Finland so the Red Army, under orders from Stalin, attempted to
invade Finland in 1939. The tiny Finnish Army was small, untrained,
badly equipped - but they turned back the red hordes.
Two young brothers, filled with patriotism, are quick to enlist in their
army and go to the border to await the Red Army. We watch light hearted
banter between the new recruits, forced smiles and manufactured bravado,
as they wait for battle. There is a short church service and all take
communion.
They spend a last evening with loved ones - there are tearful goodbyes
at the railroad station, and the train pulls out. We ride with them as
they go to the front. They leave the train and bivouac in the bitter
cold, then march ever nearer the spot from which they expect the attack
to come. A young soldier meets a girl in the nearby town.
The fighting begins and the brave joking seems hollow as friends are
killed by artillery fire in the night. With the dawn, Russian tanks and
planes come. Machine gun fire rakes the defenses but the anti-tank guns
kill some Soviet tanks; others withdraw. The battlefield is still.
They pass a restless night and with the dawn, it begins all over again.
There is hand to hand fighting in the trenches and a lot of heated
combat. There are funeral services for the fallen Finnish soldiers.
This DVD has great scenery in a beautiful country, and it tells a little
known but important part of WW II history.

VICHY! |
|
Not all French saw the Americans and Brits
as liberators and saviors.

Millions saw them
as vicious invaders and
conquerors. They loved the Germans and
helped the Wehrmacht, wanting to form a
strong alliance with the Hitler Government.
They hated the Americans and especially
hated the British. |
|
A great many
French saw the Americans and British as vicious invaders, not as
liberators. This DVD chronicles the years of the Vichy French
Government under Marshall Petain beginning with 1940 when the Wehrmacht
marches into France. There is extensive combat footage,
culminating with the triumphant march into Paris. And in 1940, they
were talking about a "New World Order".....even back then!
There are many scenes from Vichy French propaganda films showing:
* The Royal Navy ambush of the French Fleet at Mers-el-Kebir;
*
the rebuilding of the French Army to help Germany fight the Allies;
*
The body of Napoleon returns to Paris with great ceremony;
*
Thousands of French workers hired for military jobs in Germany;
*
The beginnings of many official collaborator organizations;
*
Dr. Josef Goebbels broadcasts radio speeches from Paris;
*
There were large crematory ovens found in the Soviet embassy!!
*
A great deal of anti-British and anti-Communist rhetoric;
*
The great pilot Marseilles receives his Oak Leaf from
Hitler;
*
The "Black Prince" himself, Reinhard Heydrich, visits
Petain;
*
Fierce fighting at Stalingrad - French prayers for German success;
*
Admiral Darlan, CinC of the French Navy, abandons France;
*
French Navy scuttles the fleet to keep the ships from the British;
*
Charles deGaulle makes a speech, not well received by many French;
*
Marshall Petain is arrested.
This DVD shows
the disastrous British and Canadian attempt to invade at Dieppe. The
French see them as invaders and help the Germans.
This is a very unusual look at "the other side" in this struggle.

Interview with an
SS
Soldier |
 |
|
This
SS
Soldier, Hans
vonder Heide, saw intense combat from the D-Day beaches on the French
coast into the Ukraine. He speaks about how his unit got along with the
American, British and Polish P.o.W.'s - it was not too surprising. He
tells why the German anti-tank efforts were ineffective against the
Russian T-34 tanks.
He speaks, not very lovingly, about the Partisans and their sadistic
brutality, such as slashing the throats of German prisoners, German
soldiers with tin cans.
He reaffirms that the Waffen
SS
had many
divisions made up of many nationalities including French and British.
He explains that the Einzatz Groups were not intended to round up Jews
or other ethnic groups, but rather to combat the brutal Partisans.
He tells the sad story of the fate of the Ukrainian prisoners when they
were repatriated to their native Ukraine. Most never got but a couple
yards from the trains that brought them "home".
He had nothing but scorn for the treatment of himself and other German
prisoners after the war - by the Americans. He is not the first German
veteran we have heard make these remarks. And on top of it all - he
speaks of how the German Government of today makes life extremely
difficult for anyone who says anything contrary to the accepted line.
This is a look at "the other side" in World War II and is a

Tiefland |
|
A lovely melodrama of the type seen on the movie
screens of the 1920's and
1930's. Produced
by and starring LENI RIEFENSTAHL,
this is a classic of
her movies.

This is a LENI RIEFENSTAHL film! |
|
Opens with soft,
classical music as the sun breaks over the mountains, sheep are in the
pasture and the shepherd is sleeping in his hut - but the wolf is awake
and goes after the flock. The sheep dog is badly injured in his fight
but his barking wakes the shepherd.
The shepherd comes to the nearby village and stops at the inn for his
meal. He is surrounded by many beautiful young women as they all enjoy
a meal of roasted sheep. In the village square, we first see the
Spanish dancer Martha (LENI RIEFENSTAHL) in her little wagon.
She is beautiful, sultry and tempting.
The shepherd peers in a window of the cantina and is bedazzled by the
beauty of Martha, who is dancing. On his walk back to the pasture, her
face dances in front of him - he sees her in the clouds. He is really
smitten. Others find her beautiful as well, and the Marquis summons
Martha to his estate to dance for him - but he has more on his mind than
the flamenco! The wine flows freely. She dances suggestively. He
carries her up the stairs..........
The next morning, he showers her with gifts - fine clothes, beautiful
jewelry - but again, he wants more in return. This life is too much,
and she flees to the mountains and collapses not far from the shepherd's
hut but the Marquis finds them. He draws his dirk. The shepherd pulls
his hunting knife. They clash, they fight, they are out in the storm.
Who lives? Who dies? What is the fate of Martha?
LENI
is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking.

Prelude to War
(American
Propaganda) |
 |
|
This is a US Government
film, produced by the US Army Signal Corps and it is jammed full of
propaganda as to why the United States entered World War II on the side
of the Allies.....heavy propaganda.
The film states that it was not because of December 7th at Pearl Harbor,
but rather it was because of Pearl Harbor along with sympathy for Great
Britain, France, China, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Poland, Holland, Greece,
Belgium, Albania, Yugoslavia, Russia and many other reasons. This DVD
is the very old standard "Good Guys vs. Bad Guys" as we
all saw in the 1930's and 1940's movies - cops and robbers, cowboys and
Indians - always good against evil.....as decided by the film producers
in those movies, and by the US Government in this one.
If you haven't figured it out yet, the Americans are the "Good
Guys" and naturally, the "Bad Guys" are shown to
be Mussolini, Hitler and Hirohito, attempting to enslave the entire
world. It was great propaganda back then and most believed it - some do
even today.
There is a lot of actual combat in this DVD, most from captured
German, Italian and Japanese films. In addition, there are lots of
military parades, marching with stirring patriotic music - American,
German, Italian and Japanese. It is a cross section of the forces
portrayed in this film.
A heavy dose of propaganda mixed with lots of combat footage.

"Die Goldene Stadt" |
 |
|
'die Goldene Stadt' means 'the Golden City'
We see beautiful country scenes in Germany, and beautiful blue eyed,
blonde Anna is picking flowers. She goes for a buggy ride with a man in
his early thirties and it is obvious that she has eyes for him. Later,
they walk through the meadows and make eyes at each other. She falls
for this smooth talking man from the city and leaves her family to move
to “die Goldene Stadt” (the Golden City) to be near him. Anna
experiences the big city life of fine dining, theater, carriage rides
and more. Her friends all smoke and drink a bit too much.
Anna sees a wedding ring on his finger. She is shattered, and soon
takes up with an unemployed waiter named Tony. They end up in bed, and
soon Tony moves into her tiny apartment over the shop where she works.
Anna's father and the young farmhand who secretly loved her come for a
surprise visit to the city. They see that she is living with Tony, they
see how she has changed, and they are terribly saddened. They go home
in deep despair.
Soon Anna learns that Tony is not only wasting his time playing cards,
smoking and drinking with his buddies rather than looking for work, but
he is also cheating on her with a former girlfriend. She leaves the big
city in bitter disappointment and returns to the country.
This DVD
gives a great look at traditional German life in simpler times:
beautiful scenery in a beautiful country.

Doctor of Stalingrad |

An insight into Soviet
brutality toward prisoners |
|
We open with heavy combat
action around Stalingrad and speeches by Hitler. A German doctor is in
an operating room, saving the life of a badly wounded German soldier
when the Soviet troops break in and take him away, leaving the soldier
to his sad fate. The doctor and so many others are marched through the
bitter cold to a Soviet prisoner camp.
The year is 1949 and a beautiful Soviet doctor makes her rounds of the
infirmary, pronouncing that too many sick men are fit for work. The
German doctor tells her that some of the men are not well enough and
that they will die in the cold. She tells him that they will go to work
anyhow.
In the evening, this Soviet doctor is in her quarters in a filmy
negligee and a visitor comes calling. It is another German doctor, a
prisoner but young and handsome - they are more than friends. The older
doctor breaks in saying that one of the men is dieing and must have
immediate surgery. She puts on a robe and tells him that they must wait
for the Soviet regional doctor to arrive in a week or so. The man will
be dead by then - he asks at least for some ether so he can operate.
No, it is against the rules for a German prisoner to operate. He
performs the operation anyhow.
There is a court of inquiry and the chief Soviet doctor demands
punishment for the German doctor - but the situation changes when the
young son of the Camp Commandant suddenly needs a specialist to save his
life - and the Doctor of Stalingrad just happens to be an expert in that
particular field.
Prisoners talk about a work stoppage, but within hours after the
meeting, guards enter the barracks and take away the leaders of the
movement. There is a snitch in the camp! He is caught and quickly
killed. All the prisoners are mustered in the snow and the Officer of
the Guard is going to shoot them all unless the ones who killed the
snitch confess.
There is much more, all leading up to a bittersweet ending.

Secret
SS
Bunker Explored |
 |
|
In the middle years of
the war the building of this massive underground system of tunnels &
bunkers began. These tunnel systems included an underground command
center, running water, sewer system - and with an airlock system
rendering the hundreds of miles of tunnel system gas proof, was an
engineering marvel for its time.
US Army archival footage shows the 101st Airborne coming to take over
the area, and it shows scenes we have never seen before as the men of
the "Screaming Eagles" comb through Hitler's personal library, his
quarters, Eva Braun's quarters, Hitler's personal record collection as
well as his private collection of valuable art works - all deep in the
mountain.
In 1990, the secret plans for the SS bunker complex were found,
and an expedition was formed. These secret plans are shown in this
DVD! The expedition leaders located the Chief Engineer in charge of the
construction of these bunkers in 1943 and he proved to be a valuable
asset in the history of the construction as well as finding the hidden
entrances.
This was the first time anyone had been in this massive tunnel and
bunker complex, with its machine gun ports, sleeping quarters, dining
facilities, rifle range etc. since the war ended about fifty years
earlier! This tunnel system runs some 100 feet below the other tunnel
systems, and so it is very deep inside the mountain.
This DVD is the only way to see these historic sights today, since the
German Government has systematically destroyed all the buildings on the
Obersalzberg that had any connection to the Third Reich; they have
poured debris into the tunnel entrances, poured concrete over the
entrances then built other structures on top of that. All these
buildings are gone, all the tunnel entrances are sealed - nothing is
left but films like this.

Firebombing of Dresden! |
 |
|
For thirty minutes, there
is an excellent tour of Dresden prior to World War Two - sculpture,
priceless works of art by the great masters, buildings, churches,
museums etc. There are scenes of Dresden in the winter with choirs
singing Christmas carols; shops filled with toys, gingerbread houses and
happy children waiting for the visit from Father Christmas.
Then, on 9 February 1945, they met "Bomber" Harris! Waves of
LANCASTER bombers poured incendiary and cluster bombs on this
helpless city and four hours later, as the city was filled with first
aid workers, fire fighters, relief people of all kinds - the second
wave, twice as many bombers ravaged the city again. According to
information in this DVD, it was the first time ever in history that a
firestorm was deliberately planned.
There are interviews with survivors and scathing commentary by David
Irving, who claimed that the entire disaster was deliberately planned by
Winston Churchill! Irving claims that this was act of deliberate murder
of German civilians by Churchill and Harris, and he calls them "war
criminals". Irving quotes the various acts he accused Churchill and
Harris, right from the Geneva Convention itself. But, as he points out,
the winners of a war could do nothing wrong while the losers had no
rights remaining.
The DVD shows refugees fleeing through the snow on St. Valentine's Day
1945 when B-17 bombers came over then fighters came to
machine gun anything that moved, which included refugees along the
roadside. According to Irving’s research, the American pilots were told
there were munitions and weapons factories, training facilities for the
U-Bootwaffe and even a new HQ for Hitler and his staff. There were
none. Dresden was filled with refugees, sick and wounded in makeshift
hospitals - defenseless.
NOTE
- This DVD does not portray the Allies, especially Winston Churchill, in
a very nice light. If you are faint of heart; if you would rather
believe the stories you were given in history classes than the hard
truth, then this DVD is
NOT FOR YOU!

Geburtstag des Führers |
 |
|
This DVD begins with
Germany's utter despair during the Weimar Republic with runaway
inflation, massive unemployment and the utter collapse of this
Government. Out of these ashes arose Adolf Hitler and the NSDAP. Here
we see his rise to power as shown in parades and marches.
Geburtstag des Führers, or the Leader's Birthday, became an annual event
and grew larger each year prior to the war - marches, parades and gifts
from all corners of Germany as well as much of Europe. During these
celebrations, we see familiar faces of history: Hitler, Rudolf Hess,
Raeder, Göring, GeneralOberst Heinz Guderian, von Ribbentrop, Jodl,
Heinrich Himmler, Karl Dönitz, Josef Stalin, Artur Axmann, Dr. Josef
Goebbels, Dr. Ley, Field Marshall Keitel, Benito Mussolini, Neville
Chamberlain and many others.
During these parades, the cream of the Wehrmacht is seen; paratroops,
Kriegsmarine, cavalry, light and heavy armor, artillery and mechanized
infantry.
During the birthday celebration in 1944, it is easy to tell that the
officers, troops and civilians are trying desperately to put a brave
face on a hopeless situation.....and there is no celebration for the
20th of April 1945, as the Soviets are crashing through Berlin and
Germany is mere days from total destruction.
While this DVD is based on the celebrations surrounding Hitler's
birthday each year,
it is also a
pictorial mini-history of the way the war progressed and then regressed
in Germany through the years from giddy victory after victory, to the
bitter and hopeless defeat.

Interview with Wolf Hess |
 |
|
This DVD contains
shocking new information on how the British were able to escape at
Dunkirk and on the Churchill Government's continually pressing forward
with the war effort even while Hitler was trying to make peace with
the British - even Ambassador Joseph Kennedy, father of John F.
Kennedy, tried to help with the peace process, but to no avail.
Wolf Hess speaks of the peace mission of his father, and why he later
was kept incommunicado by the demands of the British, and the
circumstances of his death. History has shown - Hitler did not want
war with England.
On this DVD, Wolf Hess reads the peace proposal that his
father carried with him on that famous flight to Scotland - item by
item. Wolf Hess gives details on how Michael Gorbachev pushed for the
release of Rudolf Hess years after the war. It had long been claimed
that the United States, England and France, wanted to release Hess for
years but that the Soviets continually blocked his release. Once the
Soviets said that Hess should be released - the British could not
allow this. Wolf Hess gives the details.
He speaks about the farce of his father's alleged suicide and the
Allied cover-up. He gives the startling results of the second
autopsy, which was ordered by the Hess family.
Wolf Hess claims that he was contacted by an Israeli intelligence agent
who told him that two members of the British 2nd SAS murdered Rudolf
Hess, and he gives a great deal of evidence point to exactly that -
a British murder and cover up to prevent Rudolf Hess from talking
to the press upon his release.
Wolf Hess states on this DVD that he will work tirelessly to expose the
truth about his father, about the Churchill Government blocking all
peace attempts by Hitler, about the cover up and the murder of his
father.

Hitler's Berghof |

This
DVD shows the renovation of the various buildings on the Obersalzberg in
the early 1930's which eventually became a high-security area for the
leaders of the Third Reich. We see the hotel Platerhof, the SS Junker
School, hotel zum Türken where the elite guard lived then the DVD takes
us inside Hitler's home known as the Berghof and we see the dining hall

Chancellery and naturally, the beautiful backdrop of the Bavarian Alps.
Many famous people are seen on this DVD - Adolf Hitler, Rudolf Hess, the
LAH guards, Eva Braun, Hoffmann, Josef Goebbels, Neville Chamberlain and
Russian Minister Molotov - and also Hitler's niece Geli with whom he was
said to have been romantic. She ultimately committed suicide - so it is
reported. There are also scenes of the beautiful movie actress Lida
Baarova, said to have been the mistress of Josef Goebbels.
There are huge throngs of people at the Berghof waiting to see Hitler,
there is an SS wedding, Mercedes limousines traveling the brand new
Autobahn - and we watch the old battleship SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN
firing on Poland at the opening of WW II.
There are color scenes on this DVD that we have never seen before. Most
of the buildings we see on this DVD are now gone, demolished by the

Blitzkrieg in France |
 |
|
Much of this DVD comes
from the Deutsche Wochenschau, from the German newsreels that played in
theaters across Germany during WW II.
On foot, on horseback, on bicycles and mechanized - the Wehrmacht moves
steadily into France. Cannons thunder and the invasion begins. You'll
see armor, artillery and infantry in action - and French troops
surrendering by the hundreds.
The Maginou Line is breached and we see the overgrown trenches of World
War I. Hundreds of French fighter planes are captured, still under
construction in the factory. During a lull in the fighting, infantrymen
share food, cigarettes and schnapps with German tank crews.
We see Adolf Hitler with Generals Jodl and Keitel, Hermann Göring and
Erich Raeder in a planning session around massive maps. Soon, the
German Flag is raised over Paris atop of the Eiffel Tower! There is a
massive victory parade of the German troops along the Champs Elyssee.
We'll see memorial and medal awarding ceremonies at the Arc d'Triumph
then the entire French surrender ceremony is on the tape - in the same
train car where Germany signed the infamous Treaty of Versailles in
1918.
Hitler and his staff arrive in München by train to greet Il Duce and
soon they are in the black staff car in the motorcade through the city.
There is a
lot of awe-inspiring actual combat here, and the DVD ends with a
stirring rendition of the German National Anthem.
The veteran who sent the master of this film to us said,
"This is a
great video with stirring music."
He somewhat understated this DVD - it is outstanding, and stirring music
with stay in your mind for hours.

Birth of a Nation |
 |
|
Birth of a Nation
(Beginning of the Ku Klux Klan)
This classic film was made in 1915 and starred silent screen beauty
Lillian Gish. You must know this movie, but here is a short description
anyway. This is American history including:
Plantation life in the middle 1800’s
Freeing of the slaves;
American Civil War
Young men on both sides marched off to war in high spirits until the
South lay prostrate and helpless with the Confederate defeat. There is
wholesale murder and rape of a defenseless people as in wars for
countless centuries. Plunder, pillage and destruction are the order of
the day in the defeated South.
We see a reenactment of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s
Theater, then ‘Reconstruction’ and the coming of the ‘Carpetbaggers’
to further depress the South while lining their own pockets. Then there
is the birth of the Klan.
This is an extremely interesting film, and the quotes from various
American Presidents will open your eyes.

German Folk Life |
 |
|
This film, made in the
late war years in Germany in FULL COLOR,
was meant to show the German people that the war would not change daily
life and the populace was backing and helping the troops.
We see happy Hitler Youth marching down farm roads, helping to bring in
the hay and the crops. As a break in their routine, they are playing
chess in a German village in the Hartz Mountains - on a giant chessboard
with real people! Local customs give a warm, light look at German
lifestyles in 1944.
We are in Berlin before the intense bombing - at the famed Berlin Zoo,
attending outdoor boxing matches, taking boat rides on the
lakes.....there are young people at the beach and kids eating ice cream.
There is very little to remind us that Germany is deeply involved in a
war for her own survival - a Cossack cavalry troop of the Wehrmacht is
on practice maneuvers; an armor unit cleans and services their tank;
S-Boats are on training maneuvers passing many heavy units of the
Kriegsmarine; the Falshirmjäger (paratroops) in jump school being taught
by veterans of the Crete campaign jumping out of JU-52 aircraft;
Gebirgsjäger (mountain troops) in a heavy snowstorm in the Italian Alps;
German troops in Finland and Norway working with happy locals and
potential Luftwaffe pilots are in glider training. German Red Cross
ladies are handing out packages and caring for wounded, no matter what
uniform.
But we are quickly brought back to the theme of this film - the happy
and unchanged life at home. We are in the Busch Circus with elephants,
horseback performers, tightrope walkers and naturally, the clowns.
There is a look at the wine harvest on the banks of the Rhine with
soldiers and young girls collecting the grapes. We see the famed riding
school in Vienna with the Lippizaner stalions and we have a good look at
the Rehperbahn - this is the bright lights section of Hamburg, and on
this evening, it is jammed, as usual, with happy revelers.
This DVD is a wonderful look, with fantastic music, at the German
lifestyle that was forever swept away in 1945.

Fortress
Europe |
 |
|
This is a compilation of
German newsreel films from Die Deutsche Wochenschau from 1943 through
1944. The film shows the building of the Atlantic Wall, the
fortifications with the massive guns, AA guns, armor and rail-mobile
troops. Nearby airfields have a large number of ME 109, FW 190 and ME
110 fighter aircraft, ready to turn back the anticipated Allied assault.
This DVD takes us deep into underground magazines beneath these massive
guns and we watch as the armorers move giant shells and powder bags
through the magazine, up the elevators to the guns.
We see a Kriegsmarine battle fleet, with some heavies, departing for a
patrol with their escorts. There are parades through Paris and we see
von Runstadt, Sepp Dietrich, General Hausser, Erwin Rommel and other
battle commanders. Later, Rommel himself tours the Atlantic Wall for an
inspection tour and we see guns so massive that the gunners actually
walk through the barrels to clean them!
Rommel delivers a motivational speech to the troops, and we see captured
American newsreel film showing US Army practicing amphibian landing
assaults.
On 6 June, we see a great deal of footage showing the heavy fighting and
always showing the Wehrmacht winning - prisoners are paraded past the
camera, shot down planes and gliders are shown and we see thousands upon
thousands of French citizens who now have no homes because the Allied
bombing raids and the artillery shelling have destroyed entire cities
and towns. They do not have good words to say about the Allies coming
to "liberate" them. We see combat troops of the regular army, of
the Waffen SS and of the Hitler Jugend SS divisions. This is great
history!

Nürnberg
- the Beginning! |

This is
from German films in 1930. The DVD opens with a traveler's view of this
magnificent ancient city, capitol of Franconia first by air then by
car. A JU-52 tri-motor transport lands, Hitler emerges and walks to his
gleaming black Mercedes touring car for the ride to his hotel.
The primary theme of this film is the gathering strength of the Party
and the re-arming of Germany as we see more ships being launched, more
tanks and planes coming out of the factories, more guns and rifles. The
stirring songs on this tape bring us back more than seven decades to a
time in history unlike ever before or since.
You'll see battle training maneuvers with the most modern Luftwaffe
aircraft of the day with ground fire from Flak. There are paratroops &
tanks, all in full battle array. The film closes with an eerie but
powerful torchlight parade.

Germany as well as Paris, London, Venice and New York.
There are parades in
Berlin with Mussolini and Hitler.....Hans Bauer took a lot of film. In
other Berliner parades, the theme harkens back to medieval times and
many parade floats feature beautiful women - totally nude! In 1938
Hitler travels to Italy to meet with King Victor Emanuel.
You will also see some
scenes that will open your eyes such as Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun
entertaining guests Marlene Dietrich and.....Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. at
the Berghof;
Marlene Dietrich is on vacation with
future American President John F. Kennedy.
In 1939, Eva Braun sailed to Norway aboard the liner SS MILWAUKEE
with her movie camera in hand.
Prior to the outbreak of
war, we see JG 54, the famed "Green Heart Hunter"
Squadron, training for the coming conflict. We see the countryside, the
villages, prisoners, soldiers, tanks and planes.
England is preparing for
the invasion that never came. Despite his promise that
"No mother's
son will be sent to fight in Europe",
FDR was quick to prepare for doing exactly that. Thousands of Hitler
Youth are filmed on maneuvers - in the New Jersey countryside, while
German film makers in Hollywood frolic on the Santa Monica beach with
German-born film stars.
Canadians loading war
materiel in Halifax; FDR & Churchill at Casablanca in which FDR
surprised everyone including Churchill - and made the war last at least
one year longer than necessary, by publicly stating that only the
complete and unconditional surrender of Germany would be accepted. How
many tens of thousands of soldiers on all sides could have lived if FDR
had not made that statement.....
This DVD is a wonderful
look, with fantastic music, at the German lifestyle that was forever
swept away in 1945.

DESPAIR!!! |
 |
|
What
happened to the people of Germany after the surrender was horrible -
especially in the regions that were taken over by the Soviets.
This film depicts the helplessness of the people - the forced labor, the
dangerous job of clearing mine fields and the harsh winter conditions in
the camps.
All too often the "establishment media" shows the same tired old scenes
in the camps during the war, but here is a look at what the victorious
Allies did to the defeated Germans for years after the war. It is
truthful and accurate, but not pretty.
This DVD shows, in stark realism, how the victorious Allies treated the
defenseless German people after May of 1945 - the same as conquerors usually
treat the defeated.
This is not a photo of any camps – these are some of the Germans who
were massacred by the thousands!

Shattered

The beginning of the Reich -
the 1923 beer hall putsch.....the beautiful buildings, plazas etc. built
by and used by the Reich, the art galleries housing some of the world's
most beautiful modern art and so many other historic buildings in Munich
are shown in this DVD - inside and outside. We also visit the famed
Hofbraühaus where the mass meetings were held.
We see the early days - the selection of the troops, the training and
the parades. We tour the compound on the Obersalzberg where Hitler,
Bormann, Göring and Speer had beautiful homes. Today, all but Speer's
home are totally gone. We tour the Platerhof hotel and other buildings
including the SS Junker School and the Eagle's Nest - these too, all
demolished except the Eagle's Nest. In this tape, we are inside as well
as around the homes and the buildings and all but the Eagle's Nest had
entrances to massive tunnel and bunker systems emanating from deep in
their cellars. Only the Hotel zum Türken still remains intact of the
buildings with tunnels in the cellar. All the others are totally gone.
We tour Nürnberg - the massive buildings built for and used in the
celebrations of the Reich with full descriptions of each and what
function it served, and what it is used for today.
Berlin - Capitol of the Reich and the most famous landmark, the
Brandenburg Gate. We tour inside and around the buildings of the Reich
during the days of the 1930's and again when the camera returned in the
early 1990's. We go through the buildings that are left.....
AND WE TOUR INSIDE THE FÜHRERBUNKER!
The cameras go inside and we see Hitler's study, bedroom, the lobby, Eva
Braun's bedroom - we tour through so many rooms it is not possible to
list them all here. This is the only tour inside the Führerbunker we
know of, and since the bunker is totally covered today with apartment
buildings and parking lot built on top of it, there is no possibility to
enter again.

Personal
Wars |
 |
|
In the 1990's, several
Wehrmacht veterans were interviewed about their time in World War II.
They all had taken extensive movie footage during the war and
much of
it is in
full color!
Then go back
in time with their movies and their narratives, remembering their time
filming the Hitler Youth and the Arbeitsdienst on maneuvers, then into
the Army training. Like soldiers everywhere, they also spend some time
chasing Army nurses.
They are with the first troops into Warsaw and later, we hear their
personal thoughts as they are on the troop train for Stalingrad and
Moscow for days in the bitter Russian winter.
We watch them get their "field haircuts" as they remember their
mixed emotions of fear, joy and sadness some fifty years later. They
relive their first experiences with battle and with death around them.
Soviet planes are overhead and they shoot one down. When they look for
the pilot, they find nothing but a pile of burned, rumpled clothing and
a few parts of the pilot.
We watch as one of them goes into a field hospital and we have a very
realistic look at what goes on in a field hospital.....and later we see
the withdrawal from the Crimean peninsula after the loss at the Battle
of Kiev. We see Field Marshall von Manstein with his troops.
This DVD gives a great look at the day to day life of a soldier in
combat - what he thinks, what he feels and what he fears. If you were
ever in combat, this will bring back many memories. If you were not in
combat, this will put you right there!

the
Legion Condor |
 |
|
This DVD depicts the
legendary Legion CONDOR as they assist Franco in the
Spanish Civil War in the struggle to push the Communists out of Spain.
In the film, you will see the recruiting of the volunteers (including
some Americans and British),
the training, the parades upon graduation and their movement to the
trains that would take them to Spain - and into history.
The troops board transport JU-52 aircraft of the Spanish Air Force to
transfer them to different parts of Spain and north Africa for their
time in combat. We see this combat in city after city, block after
block and from house to house.
We see many scenes of various aircraft including some that were
experimental after the end of World War I and were being tested in this
conflict. You'll see infantry, armor and air forces.....all in combat.
A JU-88 bomber is under attack from Spanish fighter planes. The gunners
in the bomber do their best, but it isn't looking good for the bomber.
Suddenly a flight of new ME 109 fighters blasts into the Spanish
fighters, driving them off- the JU-88 is saved.
Madrid 28 March 1939, we see the massive Victory Parade through this
city, and there is Francisco Franco to review the troops. Then they
head for the port and board troops ships for the return to Germany -
these ships will not live more than a few more years. They disembark in
Hamburg along the familiar banks of the Elbe, and parade through that
city. There are Victory Parades in various German cities, culminating
in a massive parade under the Brandenburg Gate. It is truly a step back
into history!

Hitler's
First Speech |
 |
|
This was
the first speech made by Adolf Hitler after he was elected Chancellor of
Germany. The speech was made on 10 February 1933 in the Berlin
Sportsplatz.
Tens of thousands pack the facility and Dr. Josef Goebbels opens the
evening's program with a speech of his own with a heavy anti-Communist
slant. It is a powerful speech and the crowd loves it. It is easy to
understand why he was so good at propaganda.
Finally, Hitler enters – the crowd goes wild with enthusiasm, and he
makes his first speech as Chancellor of Germany. He promises that
Germany will no longer be divided, no longer have class struggle - but
will be one Germany with one people.
The evening closes with tens of thousands in the crowd singing the Horst
Wessel Lied (illegal
in Germany today)
and the dignitaries proceed out of the Sportsplatz. It is a powerful
film!

Franco's
Italians |
 |
|
Beautiful cities give way to the ravages of the Spanish Civil War -
Italy sends troops to aid Franco. A partisan is caught, tried and put
into a cell specifically designed to drive him mad.
This DVD gives good looks at rare aircraft - tri-motor Italian seaplane,
Italian Air Force fighters and bombers. After the raids, we see sunken
ships, destroyed harbor facilities and other evidence of a successful
bombing raid.
Italian troops are in Cataluna, fighting the Bolsheviks all the way to
the Mediterranean; there is stirring Italian music throughout the entire
tape. There are soup lines for the civilians caught in the devastation
and they also receive army field rations.
We see Generalisimo Franco at the head of the victory parade in Madrid.
There is cavalry, infantry, planes overhead, mechanized artillery, light
armor and much more.
This is a powerful and stirring DVD and an interesting look into the
Italian efforts in the Spanish Civil War.

Italian
Air Force |
 |
|
The
focus is the Italian Air Force in the Spanish Civil War and it shows
bombing attacks and the destroyed villages. Italian tri-motor bombers
leaving their base on missions. A pilot with just one leg sadly watches
his fighter squadron take to the skies to escort the bombers. American
show tunes are playing on the radio in the ready room.
The bombers drop their ordnance and head for home, leaving the fighters
free to roam at will, strafing convoys and anything else that moved on
the ground. Another bombing mission and the bombs fall to the sounds of
Tchaikovsky’s "1812 Overture".
Enemy bombers are now sighted, and the Italian AA opens up as their
fighters take to the skies. Dogfights blossom all over the heavens.
Heavy combat action.
This is a really great look at some very rare Italian planes in combat.

Operation

Here we
see just how totally unprepared the United States was at the beginning
of the American entry into World War II. Some say it was because the
USA simply was not prepared while others cite the arrogance of Admiral
Ernest J. King as the reason so many ships were sunk, so many merchant
sailors were lost within sight of American shores. This DVD is not
flattering to Admiral King.
This tape includes shots of ERICH TOPP (U-552),
Großadmiral Karl Dönitz, REINHARD HARDEGEN (U-123),
KURT MÜLLER (U-352) and many other U-Boatfahrer and merchant
seamen alike.
(Sharkhunters Members’ names in upper case bold)

known as the old "JAKEY"; of the loss of SS INDIA ARROW, SS
CARIB SEA, SS JOHN D. GILL and the tanker SS GULF AMERICA.

Moonwalk? |
Did the United
States actually place a man
on the moon? Or was it merely Hollywood?
This DVD shows the following:

Did American astronauts really walk on the moon or was this all a Cold-War
propaganda coup? We know what you probably think - but after viewing this
DVD, with interviews by several astronauts and top-ranking members of President
Nixon's cabinet - you might find yourself wondering...........we were. |
|
On this DVD, obtained from a German source, you will hear interviews of
those who were there - they who know what is truth and what is
fabrication.
Walt Disney was consulted and his studios used in part. Stanley Kubrick
was in charge. We see Nixon rehearsing a speech he would have to make
if the men did land on the moon and failed to return. Alexander Haig
devised the plan to fake the actual moon landing in a Hollywood movie
set, Rumsfeld brought it to Nixon. He agreed, and they went into
production.
When handed the slip of paper on which was written:
One small step
for man; One giant leap for mankind!"
Astronaut Neal
Armstrong's comment was,
"Who wrote
that crap?"
Glaring errors are pointed out in the film of the moon landing along
with some hilarious chat on the helmet radios of the men on the moon -
nothing you would expect two men making the first footprints on the moon
would be saying to each other. There are interviews with: Christiane
Kubrick; Godfrey Hoffman – CIA; Fahrouk Elbaz – NASA; Jan Harlan; David
Scott - Apollo 15 astronaut; Jack Torrence; Buzz Aldrin – astronaut;
Lois Aldrin – wife; Eve Kendall - Nixon's Secretary; David Bowman - NASA
Houston; Maria Vargas; Richard Helms – CIA; General Vernon Walters –
CIA; Dimitri Muffley - CIA/KGB; Ambrose Chapel – CIA; and the most
revealing information comes from interviews with:
Donald Rumsfeld;
General Alexander Haig; Henry Kissinger and Lawrence Eagleberger.
Many of the
production crew that worked on the production met with strange - and
sudden - deaths, including General Vernon Walters, CIA.
Did Americans walk on the moon or was this just a very expensive
Hollywood production made to fool the world and the Soviets in
particular? Look at the film and you decide.

Top Secret
212 Class |
 |
|
This was the first look at the super-secret 212 Class Air-Independent
German Submarine, said to be the most modern non-nuclear submarine in
the world.
This tape was gotten out of
Germany at the beginning of 2005 and we see the newest, most modern
non-nuclear submarine in the world, the German 212 Class air-independent
submarine capable of running engines at depths of 1,000 feet (or more)
and able to remain submerged for weeks at a time.
On this DVD we see the first of the 212 Class, U-31, on
sea trials operating with a frigate. There are views from shore, by
divers around the boat underwater; we go all through the boat
compartment by compartment -
there is a thorough look inside the CIC
(combat Information Center) with views of all the high-tech equipment
and displays. There is even a look at the one item on a submarine that
is always forbidden -
the propeller!
We see a
comparison between U-31, the newest 212 Class long-range
boat to be built and U-30, the last of the old 206 Alpha
Class coastal boats. These 212 Class boats are extremely modern -
streamlined, ultra-quiet and able to remain submerged for weeks at a
time. All these qualities make for a super-submarine.

"Kampf Gegen der Weltfeind"
and it translates to
"Struggle Against the

which means Bolshevism or Communism.
We see the German men and women volunteer to fight against the Communism
takeover of Europe. There are scenes of ground forces, U-Boats, JU-52
aircraft taking troops into combat. There is artillery, armor as well
as the tried and true Me 109 and Me 110 aircraft.
We see the symbolic scene of a Nationalist Spanish tank smashing through
a brick wall that is painted with the hammer and sickle and of course,
many victory parades.

Adolf Hitler
Dead or
Alive |
 |
|
This is a 1943 propaganda
film in which an American millionaire offers a reward of one million
dollars to anyone who can either capture or kill Hitler.
Three gangsters, fresh out of Alcatraz penitentiary, take the job. In
order to get into Germany, they enlist with the Canadian Army paratroops
and during a jump over France, they hijack the transport plane and fly
over Germany, where they bail out, forcing the pilot to jump with them.
Once on the ground, they hijack a beer truck but are captured by the
Gestapo and taken to a POW camp where they are interrogated. They do
not tell the real reason they are in Germany - only that they must see
Hitler. Their cell is bugged with a hidden microphone but a beautiful
countess helps them escape.
They take German uniforms
from the guards and make a break out of the camp, but one of the three
is killed in the gun battle. His friends have great praise for the man
who would give up his life for his friends. They escape into the
countryside, but the countess finds them and hides the two remaining
gangsters and the Canadian pilot in her basement. They learn that
Hitler will be in town that evening and the countess, an outstanding
singer, must perform for him. She has no choice but to agree, but she
demands her normal string quartet to be her accompaniment.
The quartet arrive at her home but while she is in her room getting
dressed the two gangsters, the pilot and the butler overpower the four
musicians, dress in their tuxedoes, and go with the countess to the
reception. There is another gun battle, a second gangster is killed but
they kidnap Hitler and escape with the SS and the Gestapo in hot
pursuit.
Do they escape? Do they collect the $1,000,000 reward? What happens to
Hitler? To the countess - and to the one remaining gangster and the
Canadian pilot? What would you think would happen to these people in a
1943 propaganda melodrama? This DVD tells is all and is an interesting
look into the wartime propaganda films of the war years.

1929 Party Rally
Nürnberg |
 |
|
This is
the movie record of the 1929 Party Rally in Nürnberg and while it is not
the type of massive gala videos we have seen from the works of
Sharkhunters Member LENI RIEFENSTAHL, it is truly a historic
record on film. In this film, you will see:
·
Baldur von Schirach
·
Adolf Hitler
·
von Pfeffer
·
Bouhler
·
Alfred Rosenberg
·
Julius Streicher
·
Hermann Göring................
and
many, many more of the founders of the movement.
This DVD does not have the speeches we normally see in these Party rally
films but rather this appears to have been a silent film with a dubbed
in music track. There are parades, torchlight parades, fireworks, the
Blood Flag Ceremony, music by the SA Band, more parades and ceremonies -
and all with powerful, stirring music.

Learn to Fly the P-47 |

Learn to fly the P-47
THUNDERBOLT..........the legendary 'JUG' of World
War II.
This film opens with about
20 minutes of hard core combat action with P-47, P-38 and P-51
bomber escort missions and fighter sweeps. This segment is filled
entirely with air combat with plenty of gun camera footage from American
as well as German gun cameras.
The film's narrator is Sharkhunters
Member RONALD REAGAN!
Then we go through the same
training as a USAAF fighter pilot would receive in 1941, learning to
fight the P-47 Thunderbolt in this film - we preflight around the
outside of your aircraft then into the cockpit and we look over the
controls - how they work, what they do, etc. Then we taxi out in our 'JUG'
and take off, familiarizing ourselves with the characteristics of this
fighter including normal combat maneuvers such as dive, loop, roll,
Immelmann, split-S, spin, recovery and so much more. You'll be ready to
jump into the cockpit of your own P-47 when you finish this film.
The film closes with more
actual combat action and follows one day in the lives of seven different
P-47 pilots in different areas of combat including Italy, France,
Germany and the South Pacific. The narrator is still RONALD REAGAN.

Learn to fly the B-25
and the B-26 |
 |
|
This is another of the USAAF
instructional films. Here we learn to fly both the B-25 MITCHELL
as well as the B-26 MARAUDER often times called 'the
Widowmaker'.
We begin with a walk around
inspection outside our MITCHELL, then all through the interior of
this great medium bomber with checklist in hand. This gives us a great
look at this aircraft, inside and out - all through the plane. We sit
in the pilot's seat and go through the checklist, then we start those
two huge radial engines and taxi out. We are in the cockpit, flying the
plane and putting her through her maneuvers to see how she handles. The
B-25 is an outstanding aircraft - you'll love it!
Then we do the same with the
B-26, the plane known as 'the Widowmaker'!
With checklist in hand, we
preflight, taxi out and we are in the air. The Instructor Pilot tells
us that the B-26 can handle a dive or a power-off
stall.......then he lists all everything that the B-26 can
NOT do in the way of normal aerobatics. They were called 'the
Widowmaker' for good reason.
Suddenly, one engine quits
and they are faced with the worst fears of a B-26
pilot.....single engine operation of this aircraft. The Instructor
coaches the student pilot calmly through his landing - you only get
ONE chance with a B-26 on a single engine. After
landing, the Instructor Pilot checks to see why the port engine quit.
It seems that the Crew Chief, Corporal Smith, mistakenly switched fuel
from the wrong tank, causing the port engine quit from fuel starvation.
The last we see of Corporal
Smith..............I mean Private Smith, he was reassigned to permanent
KP duty!
This is a great piece of
internal propaganda, making it appear that flying the B-26 was no
different than flying any other plane - even though many pilots hated
this 'Widowmaker'.

Learn to fly the P-40
and the P-38 |
 |
|
Another of the USAAF
instructional films. Here we learn to fly both the P-40 WARHAWK
as well as the P-38 LIGHTNING.
We begin with a walk around
inspection outside our P-40, then preflight inside and out then
we taxi out and put this ship through her paces. There were other
fighters that were faster and more maneuverable, but the P-40 was
one tough, battle tested fighter.....just ask the AVG (the Flying
Tigers) about this fearsome killing machine. We take our P-40
through all her aerobatic maneuvers and by the time our flight ends, we
are ready to join the Flying Tigers! Where is the recruiter?
Then we do the same with the
awesome 'Forked Tail Devil' as the P-38 LIGHTNING was
called!
This twin engine fighter
could do it all - she could climb, dive and turn better than most
fighters and she could turn either direction without having to fight
propeller torque, thanks to her contra-rotating engines. All her guns
were in the nose, giving her a fearsome blast of gunnery at one aiming
point.
If this film and these
training sessions don't have you pulling out your old flight jacket,
you'd better check your pulse!

Southwest Pacific in late summer 1943 - the Rabaul Triangle is the
target for the planes of the 5th Air Force, nicknamed the 'Nickel Air
Force'.
This film is jam packed with
air combat footage
of B-24 LIBERATOR heavy bombers and B-25 MITCHELL as well
as B-26 MARAUDER.
In
addition, there is plenty of action with P-38 LIGHTNING and
P-40 WARHAWK fighters, all in action over places like Wewak, Ley and
Fischhafen as the noose tightens around the Japanese stronghold at
Rabaul. Much of the combat footage is shot by cameras in the cockpits
and you are right in the middle of the aerial combat. This film is
filled with combat action.
Transports are quickly bringing in supplies, then the C-47 'Gooney
Birds' are over the target as hundreds upon hundreds of paratroops
fill the skies to take the former Japanese bases.
This is
non-stop combat action from beginning to end and you are right in the
thick of it!

Battle for
Seeloh
Heights |
 |
|
One of the bloodiest and
most bitter armor and artillery battle ever in the history of warfare
was fought on both sides of the Oder River. The Red Army gathered in
the little village of Küstrin on the eastern banks of the Oder and the
German Army dug in on the flatlands and hills on the western side. This
was the bitter winter 1944/1945. We see both sides rushing artillery
and armor to the front and digging in as refugees flee in all
directions. The weather is bitter cold.
There are ruined buildings and bodies lie about in the snow. Soviet
commanders study their maps of the area and we watch them plan their
next move. Sturmovik bombers are overhead and we are in the cockpit,
looking down on the battlefield. Ancient fortifications are reduced to
rubble. German radio is filled with inspirational speeches and powerful
music, but the end is obviously near.
We see probably the greatest pilot of all time, Hans-Ulrich Rudel,
receiving his special medal - the
Knights Cross
with
Oak Leaf,
Crossed Swords
and
Diamonds
- in
Gold!
No one else ever was decorated with this incredibly high honor. He was
in his hospital bed but he vowed to return to the fight quickly. German
Panzers are hidden in the woods waiting for the waves of Soviet T-34
tanks. They don't have long to wait! The Kaytusha rockets are
launched, arriving in wave after wave of destruction. The Red Army is
advancing. Marshall Georgi Zhukov is now on scene and in overall
command - the wave of the Red Army moves rapidly to the west. They find
traitors hanging in the trees as they advance.
25 April 1945 - it is all but over and we are in the cockpit of Soviet
aircraft high over the ruins of Berlin.

Lager X
Starvation Camp |
 |
|
We have all heard of
the so-called 'Eisenhower Starvation Camps' in which
German prisoners were deliberately starved to death after the war ended
by orders of General Eisenhower - more than a million perished this way
in camps run by the French and by the Americans. Here is the story of
one such starvation camp, Lager X in Altheim, Austria.
The 'camp' was nothing but an open field with wire around
it and guards with guns - no buildings, no latrines, no barracks, no
mess hall - just an open field. When the civilians tried to give water
to the suffering men, the guards would shoot holes in the buckets - and
sometimes hit the person holding it. The prisoners were quickly reduced
to skeletons and then they died.
This film, spoken in English, has verbal testimony of witnesses who saw
this inhumanity with their own eyes....saw prisoners shot for no reason
other than the sentry was drunk and wanted some target practice. There
are also interviews with survivors of this camp. We visited this place
in 2008. The grave markers all show that the young SS men perished
shortly after the end of the war.
Some were just kids. It is a very sad testament indeed.

Battle of the River
Plate |
 |
|
Never
before seen films of the pocket battleship ADMIRAL GRAF SPEE
including building, launching, commissioning, sea trials and her sea
battles criss-crossing the South Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. There
are clips of other Kriegsmarine heavy units and her supply ship
ALTMARK. Then this majestic ship enters Montevideo.
We see GRAF SPEE off loading her wounded. Battle damage
on this ship is easily seen. Pretty South American girls giggle with
their handsome German sailor boyfriends. Civilians flock to the
waterfront to watch this majestic ship glide out of the harbor to engage
the British Fleet outside, only to watch in horror as GRAF SPEE
is blown up by her own crew! She burns for days.
The crew receives a heroes’ welcome ashore, but the sad note is the
funeral of Kapitän zur See Langsdorf.
This film is very rare containing never before seen battle scenes. Once
you begin watching, you can’t stop.

Kamikaze! |
 |
|
This DVD
contains rare and never before seen films of the Kamikaze attacks on the
American Fleet during the battle for Okinawa.
Some of the footage is from official U.S. Navy films while more is from
amateur films shot by American sailors caught up in this mass suicide
known as Kamikaze.
In Japanese, Kamikaze means ‘Divine Wind’ which refers to a time in
ancient history when an enemy fleet was poised off the Japanese shore,
about to land and pillage the land. A massive storm, a typhoon, sprang
up and destroyed the enemy fleet and saved Japan and thus the concept of
the suicide attacks that came to be known as ‘Kamikaze’.
This DVD will bring you right back to those days when life and death for
the American crews depended on shooting down pilots who wanted to die
anyway.
The master of this DVD came to us from a U. S. Navy veteran who was
there.

BARB's Last Patrols |
 |
|
This DVD
contains rare and never before seen films of the last 3 war patrols of
USS BARB, the American submarine that sank the most
Japanese tonnage in World War II. She was commanded by Commander (later
Rear Admiral) Eugene Fluckey. He was a Sharkhunters Member until he
died and he served ten years on our Board of Advisors.
Mild-mannered Gene Fluckey was afraid of nothing in battle and he was
decorated with the Medal of Honor
for taking BARB up a river in China to sink many ships
then escaping surfaced, at flank speed, in the blackness of night, down
a river for which he had no charts of the shoals or mines.
One of his four Navy Cross
decorations came when he put 8 men ashore on one of the Japanese home
islands to blow up a train that carried more troops to debarkation
points. It was the only time that American military men set foot on the
Japanese home islands during World War II.
This DVD is from the home movies made on the final three war patrols by
the XO on the BARB, Sharkhunters Member, Captain Max
Duncan. You have NEVER seen any of this footage before, and it’s all in
color.
