SHARKHUNTERS International
We Visit the Wannsee House

Later on Sunday 28 September, we visit mansion where the 'Wannsee Conference' was held.  Once it was the mansion of a wealthy industrialist, now it is a museum.  As we see by these photos, it sure was beautiful!

the Bridge to Freedom
After departing the Wannseehaus on our way to Karlshorst, we stopped at a bridge.  This is not just any bridge.  If you are old enough to remember the height of the "Cold War" then you must remember the exchange of spies that took place in Berlin.  The Americans would be on one side of this very bridge and the Soviets on the other.  Each had a delegation and each had the spy they were going to exchange.  At a pre-arranged signal, the two spies would begin walking across the bridge and at about the same time, they would each reach their own people at the other end of the bridge - and freedom!  It was on this very bridge.

Today, people walk, drive and ride bicycles over this bridge with no difficulty.  It was not possible during the "Cold War" as this was the border between East and West Berlin.
